December Goals

December is here, so that means it’s time for my monthly goals check, so I’m jumping right in – how did November go?

December Goals

November’s Goals:

Finish ALL holiday shopping. Not completely done, but I’m really close. I only need two more gifts and the stocking stuffers…well, once all the boxes arrive at my house.

Get through Chris’ travel schedule without losing my mind. It was so hard, but I somehow managed the single-parent thing for two weeks. Full-time single parents – I seriously don’t know how you do it. ALL the praise hands for you!

Watch the Macy’s Parade on Thanksgiving. Check! It isn’t Thanksgiving without it!

Pre-schedule at least 3 blog posts every Sunday for the upcoming week. Major Fail. With Chris gone, I got way too busy and tired being alone and just needed the sleep. Life happens.

Lose 2 pounds. Nope. totally blaming Chris traveling and Thanksgiving. I’m okay with it.

…and my bonus goal – Attending Frank Beamer’s last home game. I’m so thankful I was able to go, have a great time with my sister, and see all the tributes to an amazing coach… and then watch us beat UVA the following week. I know next year will be really different with Fuente coming in as coach, but I’m excited and ready for the next chapter. I’m so thankful we’ve gotten to say goodbye to Frank Beamer in all the best ways. (And now I’m tearing up… again. Can you tell I’m emotional about this?)

I met about half of my goals last month, and I’m satisfied with that. You can’t get them all every month, right? Now, for December:

December Goals:

Make latkes for Hannukah. I’ve never actually made them myself! It’s a tradition I’d really like to start for our family – I think it’s so important for Abbie to have exposure to both Judaism and Catholicism, so starting little traditions like this will make it fun for her. She already had 2 toy menorahs to do herself each night, and I’m looking forward to celebrating it with her.

Pre-schedule at least 2 blog posts every Sunday for the upcoming week. I’m still attempting to be organized, but this may be a tad more realistic than the 3 I tried for in November.

Maintain my current weight. The holiday season is hard enough, and I don’t want to put any more pressure on myself. If I lose weight, I’ll be ecstatic, but I’ll be perfectly happy with maintaining.

Try two new recipes. We’ve gotten into a rut of having the same things every week… and I think it’s part of why I haven’t been motivated. With my collection of cookbooks and magazines, there’s no reason I shouldn’t be trying new recipes every month!

Enjoy the holidays with my family. I really want to be present this holiday season – making memories with my family and being in the moment instead of only capturing. Abbie’s really going to be able to participate more this year, and I’m so looking forward to seeing her face light up with all our traditions.

Here’s hoping I can accomplish everything! What goals do you have for this month?

Those goals seem reasonable while letting you enjoy the season :). Maintaining weight this time of year is a feat in itself, never mind trying to lose some!!
