Stitch Fix: February 2016

It’s the end of the month, which means it’s once again time to share my latest Stitch Fix with you! I’ll spare you the speech about why I love it so much – let’s get to the fun! (Details are at the bottom of the post if you’re new to Stitch Fix!)

Stitch Fix Review February 2016

For this fix, I asked for something fun for our anniversary. At the last minute, I remembered that I wanted to try some grey jeans, but my fix was already in progress – disaster, right? Not at all. I had heard others pin specific notes to their Pinterest boards after their fixes were in progress with success, so I gave it a whirl, and it worked! Anyway, let’s get to my fix.

Fun2Fun Narie Back Keyhole Blouse – XL – $48

Fun2Fun Narie Back Keyhole Blouse

The moment I put this on, I knew it wasn’t going to work. The material has no give to it, and it was way too tight in the arms. It’s a pretty color, but that’s honestly the best thing I can say about it. The front also had some seaming that was beginning to come apart when I tried it on – not a good sign. Verdict: Returned. (I did find some similar options here, here, and here in various colors)

Margaret M Emer Printed Straight Leg Pant – L – $98

Margaret M Emer Printed Straight Leg Pant in Polka Dot!

I already own two pairs of Emers, so they’re a pant that I definitely love. These ones with the polka dots are SO fun! I really liked the print and thought they’d be fun for work… except I have a skirt that’s nearly identical – same color, just slightly smaller polka dots. While these are fun, I figure I don’t need two of nearly the same thing, so I sent them back. Verdict: Returned. (They’re not polka dot, but I have heard the Old Navy Pixie Pants are similar to Emers!)

Octavia Moni Two-Tone Leopard Print Scarf – $28

Octavia Moni Two-Tone Leopard Print Scarf

I’m going to confess something right here – I don’t own anything leopard print. As in, not even a shoe or a hair clip or anything. I was kind of surprised to see this in my fix since leopard isn’t something I gravitate to, but I give everything a try. This scarf was cute, but just not something I could see myself wearing a lot. Verdict: Returned. (Some cute leopard scarf options here, here, and here!)

Just Black Faye Skinny Jean – 31/12 P – $88 and Loveappella Kallin Contrast Knit Top – $58

Just Black Faye Skinny Jean and Loveappella Kallin Contrast Knit Top

These were the grey jeans that Darla found for me. They’re very similar to my other pair of Just Black skinny jeans, but in grey. I really liked them, but they were just a tad too snug on me and I wasn’t sure they’d stretch – I may request them again in the future. Verdict: Returned. (These are very similar, but not exact)

This shirt I really went back and forth about. Number one – this top is incredibly soft. I have one other Loveappella top and it’s one of my favorites because of how comfortable it is. I just wasn’t 100% sold on the pattern of this for a while, and I wanted to be sure. In the end, I just didn’t love it enough to keep it. Verdict: Returned. (Couldn’t find anything similar – this is a unique piece!)

So that’s February’s fix – the very first one where I sent it all back. Lots of great options and I really feel like Darla listened to me, as always, but for one reason or another, nothing really felt like a keeper. Since I”m trying to be really intentional with my choices, It was worth it to me to just send it all back. There’s always next month, and I feel like the service and free shipping makes my $20 styling fee worth it. Now to wait for March!

Hey! I was going to email you– I used your referral link and wanted to make sure you got credit. I didn’t have a good experience (they didn’t really pay attention to my profile or Pinterest) but I want to be sure you got the referral so they loose money on it šŸ™‚

I did get the referral and was wondering if it was you (they only show last initials in the referral screen). What was off about it? It does usually take a few tries to get it really right.

I said I didn’t want purses and got a purse and I played up that I worked in a really conservative, formal environment and I got two see through polyester shirts (the kind that show a camisole), leggings, and a two-patterned slouchy cotton blazer. When I emailed I was told that it may be several tries before I liked anything and that my profile couldn’t have been specific enough, but they couldn’t make any recommendations on how to be more specific. So, in general not great, but I’m enjoying buying and returning stuff from pretty much all retailers than have free shipping and returns šŸ™‚

Huh. Maybe I should do a recommendations on how to get a better fix post. I’ve been toying with it. Then again, it doesn’t work for everyone, and that’s okay. I just can’t handle all the shipping and returns, I always forget to return things and they sit in my car!

I know! But I just couldn’t justify it when I have something so similar.

Loved the polka dotted pants! I wish the coral shirt would have worked because the color is great. I hate when a shirt is too tight in the arms. That is one of my biggest pet peeves with clothes.

I know, it’s the worst. Then again, if I would just work out, I might not have that problem…. haha.

I just had my first 0/5 fix too. Womp womp. I wish I would have received your fix though! I love that coral top – but definitely not if the arms are too tight. And those polka dot pants are adorable! I might have to pin them and ask for them – I have nothing like that in my closet and they’re so fun! I also love the black/white top – I’m a sucker for anything black and white. And I love leopard print! That scarf is so cute! But I totally understand why you’d decide not to keep anything. Fingers crossed the next one is better.

Here’s hoping! Maybe just pin my whole fix and they’ll send it all to you next! šŸ˜‰

Bummer you didn’t find anything but I don’t really blame any of your choices either. Hopefully next month will be better!

I like the back and white top, but it would be better if it had a black background instead of white. I almost always get v-necks because they’re more flattering on me. I’m currently on a quest to find jeans that fit, and it’s tough! I like the jeans that you’re wearing with the leopard print scarf. Better luck next month, right?

V-necks are much more flattering on me too, so I hear you there. Good luck with the jeans search – it’s hard! The ones I’m wearing in this picture are from Liverpool – they’re really soft and fit well, so I definitely recommend them!

Stitch Fix has been so hit or miss with me too.

The last two fixes were major MISS. Style, fit, price…everything was off.

I got my latest fix over the weekend and it was 3/5…much better!

I figure you’re bound to get a few duds every now and then, right? The vast majority of mine have been amazing, so one 0/5 isn’t a big deal to me.

While I love a patterned skirt and colored bottoms, I just don’t think I could wear polka dot pants ;). I did however like that last top on you!

I agree with you on not keeping anything. I’m not a fan of leopard print either, so I have the “no animal prints” box checked in my profile.

Cute pieces – too bad they didn’t work! It’s so hard to get something you love! I have the ON Pixie Pants, and they are SO COMFY!! I have four pairs… šŸ™‚

Ooh… Pixie pants? Nice to know I love those colorful Emers and haven’t gotten any of my own yet through stitch fix. Thanks for the tip!
