Stitch Fix: January 2017

Another month, another Stitch Fix box! I actually received this box at the end of December, but with the busyness of the holidays I never got around to sharing it. So we’ll call this one January and move on from there! In this box, I asked for nursing-friendly tops and pants with some give to them. I really don’t have a ton to wear around while I’m on maternity leave, so I’ve been wearing the same things over and over and not really loving what’s in my closet. So here’s what was in my box!

Stitch Fix Review for January 2017!

Miz Mooz Precious Ballet Flat – 9 – $60

Miz Mooz Precious Ballet Flat

I’m starting with these because I don’t actually have photos of me wearing them. The moment I put these on, they were just too tight – which made me sad because they’re so cute! I love the bright color and I wear flats pretty much all the time, so they would’ve been a keeper if they fit. At this point, I’m not sure if my feet stretched that much during pregnancy or if these are just cut small, but they definitely had to go back. Verdict: Returned

Edyson Hampton Corduroy Skinny Jean – 12 – $68

I’m wearing these in all these photos. This is another item that I really wanted to work, but they were just too snug. Again, I’m not sure if it’s the cut, the fact that I’m still holding on to some pregnancy weight, or what, but they were just too small. They would have been perfect if they had fit, but I’m working hard on the pregnancy weight and not willing to buy the bigger size right now. Verdict: Returned

RD Style Bliss Cowl Neck Sweater – XL – $78

RD Style Bliss Cowl Neck Sweater

This sweater was just 100% not me, and I knew it from the moment I pulled it out of the box. It’s really soft, but it made me look shapeless. It was also too big on the sides, and I’m not a huge fan of cowl necks. Verdict: Returned

Skies are Blue Charlene Button Down Cotton Top – XXL – $54

This was another item I really wished worked but just didn’t. I love the colors and pattern on this shirt – such perfect fall/winter colors. My stylist even sent the next size up in an effort to make this top more nursing friendly, but the arms were cut really narrow and it still didn’t fit right. Verdict: Returned

Papermoon Belford Raglan Knit Top – XL – $48

This was the one winner of the box – soft, comfortable, and perfect for a casual day while on maternity leave. Verdict: Kept!

I think the ideas in this fix worked, but the execution was a bit off. I need things right now with some give, and most things either had no give or too much (the sweater). I really need forgiving items right now that make me feel comfortable as a nursing mom of two!

I know! They were just too tight to keep, but I loved them!

It’s a shame that the flannel didn’t work for you, because it looks great on you. Also, your hair is on point in that picture. In my upcoming Stitchfix, I requested my stylist lean toward timeless/classic items — do you think that’s likely? The more I look, the more I think that Stitchfix focuses on trendier items.

Aw thanks! The arms were just so tight in that one! And honestly I think it totally depends on your stylist. Most are great and listen to you, but once you find one that seems to “get” you, fight to keep them! I actually got my old stylist back fir my most recent box (that I’ll be blogging this week) and it was so much better. Having a solid Pinterest board helps too. Their customer service is amazing though, so definitely reach out to them if it seems way off!
