Hey hey! I’m Jess.
I’m so glad you found my little corner of the internet! Here you’ll find stories of parenting, working motherhood, food, life, style, and more.
A little about me:
I’m Jess, a mid-30s working mom living in the suburbs of DC. Everyone always seems to think it’s cool that we live here, but to us it’s just home. We have two girls that keep us on our toes – Abbie (born December 2012) and Ella (born November 2016). I always wanted to be a girl mama and I’m so glad I get to live it. I love writing in this little space and sharing everything I love, reading when I actually get a minute, and spending time with those I love most. I’m a sorority girl and lifelong Hokie football fan and get a little crazy during football season… you’ve been warned.
This crazy girl. She’s full of sass and imagination, loves fiercely, and never slows down. Her favorite color is pink, she loves Disney princesses, and always wants to hang out with the big kids. She’s the best big sister ever and just loves Ella to pieces.
Basically the sweetest baby ever. We joke that she is all sweet where Abbie is sass. Ella is the biggest mama’s girl and has been since the moment she was born. She got her daddy’s big eyes and loves food – we have yet to find a food she doesn’t like. She loves to chase her big sister around and take all her toys, whether Abbie likes it or not.
He’s going to claim he’s at the bottom because he’s “the bottom of the totem pole,” but that’s far from the truth. He’s the one that allows me to be myself, that calms my crazy, that makes our family work. He’s the best dad and absolutely embraces everything about being a girl dad… even if he does want to teach them about wrestling. We balance each other out, and he’s always told me what I needed – even if I didn’t want to hear it. We only dated 5 months before getting engaged, because when you know, you know. I’m so glad I get to spend life with this guy.
I hope you’ll stick around and let me know what you think and what you’d like to see around here! Have a question or just want to chat? Let me know! I can’t wait to meet you.
