Another Thursday, another bump update. I meant to do 38 weeks…. but life happened and hey, I’m still pregnant this week so it’s fine, right?
How far along? 39 Weeks
Size of baby: About 20 Inches and 7.3 pounds- a small watermelon! For size reference, Abbie was 21 inches and 8 pounds, 2 ounces at birth.
General Thoughts/Feelings/Mood: DONE. I’m so done. I am so ready to meet this little girl, use her name, see what color hair she has, and get to know her. I’m so, so ready to see Abbie as a big sister, and so, so ready to sleep on my stomach again. I miss it so much.
Food Aversions: Everything? Nothing? Same as ever – nothing sounds good.
Food Cravings: Nothing! Nothing tastes good!
Health/Fitness: Still doing okay. My blood pressure has stayed steady since coming off the baby aspirin at 36 weeks, so that’s good. I’ve hovered within the same 3-4 pounds in the last few weeks too, despite the fact that my activity is way down. I’m at about 33-34 pounds gained, and my goal was to stay under 35, so I’m okay with that. Hopefully I’ll stay that way until baby arrives!
Doc Appointments: I had one this afternoon, and everything is still the same – completely closed (shocker) and that my body was like a vault at keeping her in. So that’s fun. The hospital scheduling department is supposed to call me to set an induction date, so I’m really looking forward to having an end date!
Symptoms: All the typical third-trimester stuff. Tired, uncomfortable, hip pain, Braxton-Hicks like crazy, pressure, not being able to bend over, and waking up approximately 18634726 times to pee at night.
Sleep: I’m actually doing okay here. I can usually fall asleep pretty easily, and am able to fall back to sleep after getting up to pee. Pretty thankful for that!
Movement? She’s running out of room in there, so it’s more pushing than kicks nowadays, but I do feel her every few hours. Abbie felt her moving around the other night and it was so cool to see her smile when she felt her.
Maternity Clothes: They’re comfy, but can I be done with them now? Seriously.
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach!
Baby Items Purchased: My office generously threw me a baby shower a few weeks ago and gifted me a bunch of Amazon gift cards. It was perfect – I was able to get the rest of the “must-haves” from my registry with the completion discount. I do have a Target registry as well that I’ll be fulfilling once baby arrives so I can use the completion discount there too – hey, I like discounts!
Best Moments So Far: My baby shower at work was really sweet. My best friend at work even took me to Starbucks right before and bought almost their entire stock of lemon loaf for me. It was amazing.
Most Unexpected Moment So Far: Nothing really – everything seems to be going along like last time!
Looking Forward To: Baby’s arrival, whenever that will be!
Abbie: I think she’s excited and sort of gets it, but we’ll see. Only time will tell!
Come on Baby Girl! We want to “meet” you! 🙂 You look great Jess. Can’t wait to hear that she’s here.
I’m a major stomach sleeper too. Definitely one of the hardest parts of pregnancy for me as well!
Eeeek!!! So, so, close!!
Sending prayers that the next few days (hopefully less!) go quickly and smoothly for you. You’re on the home stretch, momma!!

I can not wait to meet her. Now I’ve given you Stephanie approved dates for her debut so let’s see what she picks for her birth date 🙂
You are almost done and look beautiful!!
