Four Tips to Stay Hydrated

I don’t know about you, but I’m always running around like a crazy person. Between working full-time, two kids, my husband, and this blog – life is busy. It’s hard to remember to take care of myself sometimes, but it’s so necessary. One of those things that’s so important is staying hydrated. It’s something I really concentrate on, so I’m sharing my top tips to stay hydrated in hopes they will help you too!

#AD Do you struggle with staying hydrated? I've got four tips on the blog to help you get your daily liquids in - including using a fun cup like these pineapple ones! #hydration #health

  • Use fun cups or bottles that you want to use. I got these fun pineapple cups in a package from Welch’s recently, and they are just exactly what I mean. They are adorable – I mean, who wouldn’t want to drink out of them? I tend to find a water bottle that works for me and tote it around – I have a portable one that keeps my water super cold, and another I keep at work. Did you know you also drink more when you use a straw? It sounds crazy, but it’s true!

  • If you have trouble remembering to take a drink, set an alarm or put yourself on a schedule. There are a lot of apps out there that you can use, or you could simply set an alarm on your phone. You could also do something simple – like every time you get up to use the restroom, you take a drink. Easy to remember and helps so much!
  • Find a drink you love. I happen to be a big water drinker, but I love having something a little different once in a while. When I’m choosing what to have, I look for healthier options and something that is going to bring additional health benefits to me. Lately, it’s been the new Welch’s 100% juice with coconut water – and this stuff is so good. I’m not a huge fan of coconut water by itself, but I love how it pairs with Welch’s juice! Because it’s got coconut water, there are only 100 calories per serving and 30% less sugar – something this mama can totally get behind.

  • If you think you’re hungry, drink something first. Hunger and thirst signals can be totally misread by your body. Sometimes you think you’re hungry, but you’re actually just thirsty! Always try to drink something before you eat – many times you’ll find you were actually just thirsty!

Do you have trouble staying hydrated? Any other tips you would add to my list?
