March Goals

I kind of got away from setting monthly goals while I was pregnant, but definitely want to get back to it now!  Here are my goals for March!

  1. Lose 5 pounds.  I’m aiming for a pound a week as a general rule, and there are 5 Saturdays (my weigh-in day) in March.  Only lost .2 on Saturday, so I’ve got to make up for it – 4.8 left for March!  I also went ahead and bought an ActiveLink from Weight Watchers, so hopefully that’ll help me up my activity during the day.  I don’t tend to have a lot of time to dedicate to workouts, so moving more during the day is the better bet for me personally.  I earned a point yesterday just in a lazy Sunday!
  2. Successfully move!  I haven’t talked about it on the blog yet, but we’re moving!  As I may have mentioned before on here, my in-laws currently live overseas but own a townhouse here.  They’ve had tenants in the house for the past nine years, but they suddenly got transfer orders and had to leave…so we’re moving in!  Since they’ll be back for good next summer, they didn’t want to go through getting the house ready for new tenants just to come back in about a year.  We’ll be paying way less than we do now, and since we’ll be in the house, they’ll be able to put in a lot of the upgrades they were planning to do before they even get back.  It’s a win-win situation for all of us, and I’m so excited to start saving up for a house of our own!
  3. Store up at least 75 ounces of breast milk.  With me going back to work next month, I want to have a week of breast milk stored for Abbie to have at daycare.  I used Kellymom’s calculator to figure out that she’ll need roughly 15 ounces of breast milk while she’s away from me.  I’m planning to freeze it in 5 ounce portions.  This means I definitely have to step up my pumping, which I dread.  Seriously, pumping makes me feel like a cow!  I’ve upped the amount of fenugreek I’ve been taking though, and it’s definitely helped.  My plan is to pump an hour after every time Abbie eats during the day – even if I only get an ounce or two from each pumping, I know every little bit will help.  I’m hoping to be able to store about 5 ounces per day, which should get me to my goal in plenty of time.  I’m hoping once I go back to work, I’ll be able to get 5 ounces each time I pump, since they’ll be replacement for Abbie nursing.  Thankfully, my company is very supportive of nursing moms, and I have a room I can pump in with no issues.  I’m planning on pumping three times a day.
  4. Try one new recipe per week.  I have a lot of cookbooks.  I haven’t counted in a while, but last time I did it was close to 200!  I’ve made a lot of new things lately and want to keep it up.  I made minestrone soup on Saturday, and I’m hoping to share that with you guys later this week…Abbie permitting, of course!

And just because I can’t seem to put up a post without an Abbie picture, here’s one!
