Easy Valentine’s Day Bark

Easy Valentine’s Day Bark

We may have just finished the holiday season, but the next one is just around the corner! Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it, and I wanted to find a way to make it fun for Abbie now that she’s getting older and more interested in holidays. Valentine’s Day is so fun for kids – especially my 5-year-old who loves candy… and all things pink. One of my favorite easy treats to make is bark – of all kinds. It requires a microwave, chocolate, and toppings – my kind of recipe. I put together the chocolate part and…

I Don’t Want My Daughters to Say #MeToo.

I Don’t Want My Daughters to Say #MeToo.

When I turned the Golden Globes on last night, it was more for background noise than anything else. I glanced at the dresses and went about my chores for the night, getting ready for the busy workweek ahead. The to-do list never stops, you know. But then I started really looking at the dresses. I knew that most of the attendees had planned to wear black – but I didn’t see a single other color in the audience. I saw one of my favorite new shows, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, win two awards. And then Oprah received the Cecil B.…

Three Easy Solutions for Your Game Day

Three Easy Solutions for Your Game Day

It’s so hard to believe that football season is just about over and the biggest games of the year are here! We are huge football fans in our house – the TV has football on all day long every fall, despite Abbie and Ella’s protest to watch kids shows. Sorry kids, but it’s football season.   With football season comes hosting Game Day get-togethers. Now let’s be real here – I’m a full-time working mom and I want to enjoy my weekends. That means the food for all of these get-togethers needs to be two things – tasty and…

Hello, 2018

Hello, 2018

Well, three days into 2018 and I already feel behind. Typical. In all seriousness though, I am so happy to say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018. While 2017 wasn’t a crazy year for me by any means, the end of it stressed me out – job switch, throwing a last-minute first birthday for Ella, Abbie’s fifth birthday (andI still haven’t written her birthday post), and the holidays. Let’s just say I am so incredibly thankful for the new mindset a switch of the calendar brings, and I’m so ready to fill this brand new year with my dreams and…

I cannot believe that we are officially halfway through December – it’s crazy. If you work full-time like I do, December brings lots of things to the workplace – holiday parties, treats from co-workers, and one you may either love or dread – the White Elephant gift exchange.

Cheesy Italian Turkey Sausage Frittata

Cheesy Italian Turkey Sausage Frittata

I am always looking for easy, filling breakfasts. I’m a big proponent of fueling up at the start of your day… and if you know me, you know I adore breakfast food. In fact, I could eat breakfast food any time of day and never get tired of it. Even though I enjoy the classics, it’s nice to come up with new ideas too. We’re always trying to get more whole foods into our diet – that allows us to indulge just a little bit while still keeping with a healthy lifestyle. I’ll be honest – the motivation for…

WW Freestyle: First Impressions

WW Freestyle: First Impressions

Today, after hearing about the changes all week long, we finally got the new Weight Watchers Freestyle program. I’ve heard good things, grumblings, and more, but honestly? I’m really glad the changes are here. One of the things I love about Weight Watchers releasing program changes at the end of the year is that it gives me a bit of a reset before the new year begins. Because let’s face it – EVERYONE is going to hope on the weight loss train come January 1, and I’m happy to be just a little bit ahead of it. So, first impressions…

Tackle Kids Cancer

Tackle Kids Cancer

A few weeks ago, we got the news that one of my good friends has cancer. It was a shock to all of us, and while she has an excellent prognosis and she’s on a good treatment plan, I think we’re all nervous about what that diagnosis means for her and her family. It all got me thinking about how cancer touches so many of us. It’s touched my family as well (with my mom), but thankfully we’re all currently healthy. Some of the hardest hit are the littlest ones in our lives – children. It’s so easy to…

How to Pick Outfits for Family Pictures

How to Pick Outfits for Family Pictures

It’s that time of year – if you haven’t done your family photos yet, they’re likely in the next few weeks. If you’re like me, you completely stress over what to wear, and it only gets more difficult the more kids you have. This was our first year taking outdoor photos as a family of four, since last year’s photos were Ella’s newborn photos!

For the past few years, I’ve had a bit of a system for picking our outfits, and it’s served me well. I’m so happy with how our outfits and photos turned out, so here are my tips for getting the look yourself!
