The day I get my Stitch Fix box is one of my favorite days of the month – I mean, who doesn’t love a box of fun delivered to their doorstep? Excited to share September’s fix with you today!
If you haven’t heard of Stitch Fix, it’s a personal styling service. I’ve been getting fixes for over 3 years now and it’s my favorite way to shop! First, you fill out a style profile and set up a Pinterest board of what you love, then your stylist (hi, Darla!) picks out 5 items for you and ships them straight to your door to try on in the comfort of your own home. Each box is $20 and includes shipping both ways, plus that $20 gets applied to anything you buy! They even give you 25% off if you buy everything – which I’ve only done once. So worth it, in my opinion, to not have to go out shopping for clothes!
I received this fix at the very tail end of August and asked for Darla to send me a box of fall. Fall is without a doubt my favorite season (and my favorite to dress for), and she delivered! I had a bit of a hard time deciding what to keep but think I made the right choice – on to my fix!
Levi’s Premium Wedgie Icon Straight Leg Jean – Size 12 – $98
So, we’re starting this off with the one item I knew I wouldn’t be keeping the moment I saw it. First of all, these jeans were entirely too tight and definitely run smaller than the majority of my size 12 jeans. I got them on, but nowhere near buttoned – and they had an all button fly on top of it. I hated the all button fly. It seems the 90s are definitely back because the cut of this just hands-down reminded me of the mom jeans my mom used to wear in the 90s. The fabric was super stiff and these were just absolutely not for me. Verdict: Returned.
Skies Are Blue Johnni Cargo Vest – XL – $68
This vest is absolutely darling. I love the color, the cut, and the style of it… but not the price. Oh, I was so close to keeping this – I really love it, but since I couldn’t wear it to work, the price is just too much for the amount of time I’d wear it. If I had a more casual work environment or was a stay at home mom, I absolutely would have kept it. It’s so cute, but I just couldn’t justify it – I’ll be looking for a knockoff at a better price point! Verdict: Returned.
Kut From The Kloth Benter Mixed Material Top – XL – $58
I really liked this top, especially the cut of it. It’s comfy, great for fall and winter, and even work appropriate for our casual days. In the end though, I just didn’t love the print – something about it was just off. Too big of a floral maybe, or the colors were too dark? I just wasn’t sure, but this was just not something I loved, and I’m trying to be pickier about what I keep. Verdict: Returned.
41Hawthorn Cristen Shirt Dress – XL – $78
I was skeptical of this when I saw it was coming – shirtdresses are usually just not my favorite, especially when it’s not a structured material. As always, I still gave this a chance, but I wasn’t a fan of how this fit. The floral was also not my style – a bit too big (kind of like that top), and my husband actually said it looked like 80s wallpaper! My friend Desiree got this dress and it looks great on her, but it’s just not for me. Verdict: Returned.
Loveappella Brena Colorblocked Knit Hoodie – XL – $58
Finally, my absolute favorite piece of this fix! I had specifically mentioned looking for a hoodie in my note and I love this one! It was EXACTLY what I was looking for going into fall. I wear hoodies constantly in the fall and this is cute, comfy, and a little different with the pop of pink – I know it’ll get a lot of wear! Plus it has thumb holes – it’s probably one of my favorite hoodies ever! Verdict: Kept!
So that wraps up my September fix – do you think I made the right choice?

Oh man… I love the vest. I wear mine all the time in all seasons!
See, I think if my office was more casual I totally would’ve kept it… just couldn’t justify the price for only weekend wear!
