    20 Questions

This post has been floating around the blogworld recently and I thought today I’d join in. I always love these getting-to-know-you posts, so here’s your opportunity to learn a bit more about me! Favorite food: Lately? Mexican food. Give me all the tacos, huevos rancheros, and guac. All the time. Flip flops or high heels: Flip flops or any kind of flats. I gave up on heels about 3 months into my pregnancy with Abbie. I rarely wear any sort of heel… I’m just short and embrace it. Favorite places to shop for yourself: Stitch Fix, Old Navy, Target, TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack…lots…

    Love & Hate

    Love & Hate

On Monday I saw that Stephanie had tagged me in a fun little post called Love and Hate… as in ten things you love and ten things you hate. I love these kind of posts, so obviously I was going to join in. I just can’t resist. Things I Love… My family. I think that’s pretty self-explanatory, huh? They’re the reason for everything I do, and I wouldn’t be complete without them. I’m so thankful for them every day – two of the best parts of my day are the “Hi, Mommy!” I get from Abbie when I pick her…

    Ask Me Anything

    Ask Me Anything

May is flying by. I can hardly believe that we’re nearly halfway through the month already. Before we know it, it’ll be Memorial Day and the official start of summer. One thing I love doing from time to time (especially when I see new people stopping by around here) is to give you the option to ask questions. I feel like there are so many things I’m curious about in other blogger’s lives. How do they handle situations? What products do they use? What is their favorite secret Starbucks order that I need to know about because it’s delicious? Do…

Five Things You May Not Know About Me

Five Things You May Not Know About Me

I thought I’d take a slightly different take on my Friday post today, and give you a little insight into me. Here’s five things you may not have known about me!  ONE I was a communications/journalism major in college, something I loved at the time and thought I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It started with my Grandpa, who collected newspapers. I wish I had photos of the stacks and stacks of newspapers that lined the walls in my grandparents’ house when I was a kid. I kid you not, they were everywhere. He loved knowledge,…

Sometimes these posts are some of my favorites to read, since it really gives you a peek inside another person’s life. Plus, it is frigid here today (my car said NINE degrees when I got in it this morning), and it’s just too cold to think. So here you go! Reading… You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz. I’m about 100 pages in and struggling a little, but I think I may have FINALLY reached the point where it starts to reel you in. Here’s hoping, because it’s been slow going thus far. Wearing… Lots of layers. Have I mentioned…

    My Favorite

    My Favorite

October is my favorite month of all. Not only does it include my birthday, but I’ve always felt its the start of the holiday season. Plus, there’s college football, sweaters, leaves falling…it’s pretty much perfection. Then I started thinking about my other favorite things… Color: Usually purple, but I’m a pretty big fan of maroon and orange (duh) TV Show: Parenthood is hands down my favorite and I’m so sad about it ending this year. I also love Revenge, Top Chef, and the Real Housewives of Orange County and Beverly Hills. Movie: When Harry Met Sally. I love it and know…

    Things I’m Bad At

    Things I’m Bad At

Walking up or down stairs without the railing.. Fashion posts…I’ve tried, really. Not one has made the cut. Taking self-portraits. Probably the reason for the above. Not worrying. Relaxing. Shopping for myself without feeling guilty. Painting my own toenails. Walking…as in sometimes I trip over my own two feet. Parking big vehicles. Saying no to my mom. Being patient for football season to start. (59 days, people!) Not scratching bug bites. Remembering to use lotion. Folding laundry. Instead it just sits in the basket until it’s time to do more laundry. Sweeping and mopping. I hate cleaning floors. Resisting Starbucks.…

Reading… This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Trooper.  I’m about halfway through and like it so far…but then again, it’s about a dysfunctional Jewish family sitting Shiva.  Of course I’m going to like it. Wearing… My fitbit, always Listening… To 90s boy bands.  Because they’re awesome, and I can.  I had a sudden urge to listen to ‘NSync this morning, and it’s still going strong. Dancing… To the above, in the car, naturally.  Complete with hand movements for Bye, Bye, Bye.  The other people sitting in traffic think I’m awesome, of course. Making… A meal plan for next…

So, one of my favorite things is answering random questions.  I usually try to not do it too much, but Rachael over at LUMUHAND nominated me for an award and asked me questions…so therefore I answer.  You’re supposed to nominate other bloggers to keep it going, but I don’t have the head for that this morning, to be honest with you.  Instead, I’m going to answer all the questions Rachael gave me…and if you’re so inclined, you should answer them in the comments as well!  I’d love to read your answers! Hhere’s my questions: What is your signature Starbucks drink?…

    I’m the Kind Of Girl…

…who puts away my daughter’s laundry, but not my own. …asks for my husband’s input in planning meals for the week, but usually doesn’t like his suggestions. …is super clumsy.  I’ve been known to walk into door frames and walls. …is terrified of stairs that are open underneath. …has to hold the railing when going up or down stairs. …can apparently write multiple sentences about my general clumsiness and dislike of stairs. …loves getting into a made bed, but hardly ever makes it. …has an endless to-do list. …sometimes laughs when Abbie throws a fit.  I can’t help it –…
