  • Christmas 2016

    Christmas 2016

Well, Christmas 2016 is in the memory books. I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend, and I wanted to pop in to share a little bit of ours (get ready for a photo dump). We’re fortunate that our parents live close by, so we were able to spend time with both sides of the family. I actually really loved that Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, since that meant Chris was home Christmas Eve day as well.  The girls let us sleep in (seriously, they were both still in bed at 8am!) and we headed to Weight…

    Our Holiday Birth Announcements

    Our Holiday Birth Announcements

One of my absolute favorite things about the holiday season is the mail. Normally, my mailbox is full of bills and junk, but during the holidays, it fills with the happy faces of my friends and family in the form of holiday cards. I love seeing all the cards on display with our decorations and seeing how families grow and change over the years. I look forward to designing our holiday card every year, from planning our family photo shoot with our favorite photographers to designing the actual card. Since Chris and I are an interfaith family, it’s important to…

    Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Sticks

    Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Sticks

When the holiday season comes around, so do all my favorite flavor combinations. I love them all, but chocolate and peppermint has always been my favorite. Add in some pretzels, and it’s the perfect sweet and salty holiday snack. I love to make treats to give away to family and friends, so I whipped up these Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Sticks as a fun snack to gift. They’re super easy to make, so they’re great for kids to help with too. Just be careful not to eat them all – you’ll want to!   Enjoy – and I dare you not to eat…

    Our Christmas 2014

    Our Christmas 2014

Good Morning and happy…. Tuesday? Sorry, hard to keep track while on holiday break from work…. okay, I’ll stop bragging now. Especially because once I go back on January 5th, I don’t get a holiday until Memorial Day. Karma and all that. We had such a fun Christmas, and I hope you all did too! We had a quiet Christmas Eve at home, complete with easy sugar cookies (sometimes you just have to go with the pre-made refrigerated ones). That night, Santa ate his cookies and left Abbie lots of surprises under the tree. It took a bit of coaxing…

    Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to take a moment to share our holiday card with you all. We went with Minted this year, and I love the results. Chris, Abbie, and I hope you’re having a very happy holiday! Enjoy spending time with your family and friends!

    Abbie Meets Santa, Take Two

    Abbie Meets Santa, Take Two

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. We certainly did, and the highlight was Abbie’s second trip to see Santa. Last year, she wasn’t scared of him at all, so I was hoping for the same this year… even though as we all know, toddlers are unpredictable. Happily, she once again wasn’t scared at all! See those little gasps? She was SO excited about her new Sofia toy… to the point that she refused to let go of it in the car. Now wait until she realizes tonight that we put batteries in it and it walks……

    Our Thanksgiving Weekend

    Our Thanksgiving Weekend

Can I start with saying how incredibly hard it is to be back at work today? I had an amazing five days off – my daycare provider asked for a day off yesterday since she was moving (just down the street), so I got an extra day to hang out with my girl. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all, and I loved having so long to celebrate it – this extra day off may just become a regular thing. I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving, because we definitely did. Have I mentioned it’s my favorite? Maybe just…

Five on Friday – Christmas Recap!

Five on Friday – Christmas Recap!

Happy Friday all!  Thanks to my company’s year-end closure, I’m off until the 2nd.  It’s a good thing too, since I’m feeling a little under the weather today.  We sent Abbie to daycare today, so that gives me a chance to try to recover before the weekend.  On that note, I’m linking up with Darci, April, Christina and Natasha for Five on Friday today and sharing a recap of our Christmas!   {ONE} My brother and sister-in-law came over on Christmas Eve to celebrate and exchange gifts.  We thought they wouldn’t get here before Abbie went to bed, but thankfully they did and Abbie was able…

    Christmas Eve Traditions

    Christmas Eve Traditions

I thought I’d pop in today to share a few of my favorite Christmas Eve traditions that we’ll be doing tonight! 1 – Christmas Jammies.  The jammies I showed off here?  Yep, I’ll be wrapping them up for Abbie to open and wear tonight. 2 – Cookies.  I usually have dozens of cookies baked by now, but time got away from me this year.  We’ll be baking up a storm tonight! 3 – Watching It’s a Wonderful Life.  It’s my absolute favorite Christmas movie, and it just isn’t Christmas without it. What are your favorite Christmas Eve traditions?

    Abbie Meets Santa!

    Abbie Meets Santa!

This past Sunday, Abbie got to meet Santa!  My mom has volunteered at a local fire department auxiliary basically since we moved to Virginia, and they have a Christmas party each year for the kids and grandkids of the volunteers.  Every child under 12 gets a gift from Santa…and this year was Abbie’s first party!  We haven’t had a reason to go to the party since my youngest sister turned 12, but I was excited to go with Abbie this year – much better to meet Santa there rather than in line at the mall!     Chris’ Aunt Wanda…
