  • Essential Oils For Pregnancy

    Essential Oils For Pregnancy

I’ve finally reached the third trimester of pregnancy and the end is in sight. It’s so hard to believe that we’re so close to meeting this little girl, and 30 weeks of pregnancy are already behind me. Truthfully, I don’t usually have too hard of a time with pregnancy. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to not get really sick, and my weight gain and blood pressure have been right on target. I have friends that are sick their entire pregnancies, and hearing that makes me so thankful for the relatively easy time I’ve had. Even though it’s been fairly uneventful, this…

Essential Oils for Spring Cleaning and Beyond

Essential Oils for Spring Cleaning and Beyond

Spring is officially here, and with it comes the annual chore of spring cleaning. I’m going to be honest here – cleaning is not my strong suit, and never has been. I continue to wish I would wake up one day with a magical cleaning fairy that would just do it all for me. Since that hasn’t happened yet, I’m teaming up with a few of my favorite ladies to bring you our BEST spring cleaning and organizational tips – see the list at the bottom of this post, as well as a giveaway! While cleaning is definitely still a…

    DIY Body Butter

    DIY Body Butter

I’ve been meaning to share this body butter recipe for ages. I’ve gotten to the point that I make a lot of my own personal care products, and this is a favorite of mine. It’s completely customizable, so moisturizing, and easy to make. Enjoy! DIY Body Butter Ingredients: 3.5 oz shea butter (I get mine here) 3 oz coconut oil (I get mine in big jars from Costco, but you can find it here) .5 oz liquid carrier oil – jojoba, sweet almond or fractionated coconut oil all work well. You just want it to be liquid at room temperature (Find…

    DIY Cloth Wipe Spray

    DIY Cloth Wipe Spray

So I’m back today to share another DIY I use with my cloth diapers – wipe spray. When you cloth diaper, you usually also use cloth wipes. Most people I know store the wipes dry and spray on a solution before wiping their kiddo’s bottom. For a long time, I used a mixture of commercial baby wash and baby oil, but I’ve switched to this recipe and I like it SO much better! As always, it’s adaptable and you can use different oils to suit your needs, as well as adjust it to the size of your container. I tend…

    DIY Diaper Balm

    DIY Diaper Balm

I’m popping in with another DIY care product for you today! I shared my face serum recently, but it’s not the only thing I’ve been making and I’ve got many more recipes for you guys! This is one I use all the time since Abbie is still in diapers and there’s no sign of her potty training yet. It took me a little while to get the consistency where I wanted it, but it’s now the ONLY thing I use on her bottom! It’s made from all natural ingredients and comes together in the microwave! It’s seriously one of the easiest…

DIY Face Serum with Essential Oils

DIY Face Serum with Essential Oils

Ever since getting started with essential oils earlier this year, I’ve been slowly starting to replace my products with more natural alternatives. It’s been easier, cheaper, and better for our family.    I whipped up this face serum a few weeks ago and can honestly say it’s made a difference in the skin on my face – it’s soft and moisturized, and my makeup goes on smoothly in the mornings. You can customize it for your skin too! I picked 4 different oils that support healthy skin, and this smells great too!   DIY Face Serum  1 oz glass dropper…

    What’s in the PSK?

    What’s in the PSK?

Happy Saturday! Yep, I’m posting on a weekend! I thought I’d start doing that this week to finally start talking about essential oils around here, and specifically, Young Living essential oils. Over the past few months, I’ve really been incorporating essential oils into our daily lives. They’re a fantastic tool for maintaining wellness, and at this point, I never want to be without them! To start out all of this, I wanted to talk about the Premium Starter Kit, which is exactly how I got started. The PSK is the best value for getting started for a few reasons: You…

Young Living Essential Oils – My Experience

Young Living Essential Oils – My Experience

Late last year, I started to see a lot of people talking about essential oils and how amazing they were. Honestly? I was really skeptical. I thought, okay, here’s another thing the “crunchy” moms are pushing, and I went about my life. Then, they kept popping up all over the place… and I got curious. I started researching essential oils. I read blog posts about oils. I saw testimonials about oils and how people were using them to take charge of their health. I joined a Facebook group about them and just kind of watched and learned from it for…

    Lately

    Lately

I’m kind of in disbelief that it’s already Wednesday. Where has my week gone? It’s been a busy one for me at work this week since I wasn’t in on Thursday or Friday, and I still feel so behind. Here’s what we’ve been up to… While Abbie adjusted to DST just find with the adjustments we made to her bedtime, Chris and I have been having a harder time in the mornings. I love that I get to drive home while it’s still light out, but getting up in the dark is hard. I’ve needed a lot more coffee than…
