  • January Goals

    January Goals

Another new month, another new set of goals. First, we’ll see how I did in December, then I’ll go into what I’ve got planned for this first month of 2016. December’s Goals: Make latkes for Hannukah. Big fail on this one, but you know what? Totally okay with that. I don’t exactly need to be eating tons of fried food, and there’s always next year. Next year Hannukah falls during and after Christmas, so I’ll have more time! Pre-schedule at least 2 blog posts every Sunday for the upcoming week. I did this about half the month, so still something I need…

    October Goals

    October Goals

So, this monthly goals thing? To be honest, it’s not really working for me, so I’m going to switch it up. To make a long story short, I didn’t hit ANY of my September goals. Fall is always a crazy time of year for us and I just didn’t end up having time for everything I wanted to do. So this month, I’m going to keep it simple – only 5 goals. Create Buttons for my sidebar. This has seriously been on my to-do list since I got a new design over the summer. I really want to get this…

How to Make the Most of your Fitbit

How to Make the Most of your Fitbit

If you’ve been around here a while, you know I’m a big fan of my Fitbit. I’ve now had one for nearly two years (crazy, right?) and feel like I’ve learned a lot along the way. If you’re on the fence about getting one, just got one and aren’t sure what to do, or could just use a few tips, I’ve got them. I’ve really worked to make the most of my Fitbit and made it work for me, so I’m sharing my top tips!   Choose the right model for you. When I first got a Fitbit, I chose…

    September Goals

    September Goals

Happy first day of September! I’m so excited to be entering a new month (and season!) so I thought I’d kick it off by talking about my September goals and report back on how I did with August (spoiler – not great). August Goals Report: Blog: Reader survey. Nope. Didn’t even start it. Post about essential oils. I’m counting this since I got my first one up this past weekend. I have more planned, but this is a win for now. Create Buttons for my sidebar. Big nope. Work: Get through office move. It’s over. Win! Weight Loss: 12,500 steps every day. Even though I…

    August Goals

    August Goals

I feel like everyone I know in the blog world was sharing their August goals this week, so it’s my turn. Setting goals on the blog is something I used to do pretty often, and I want to get back to it. I’m hoping having to report back on them will keep me a bit more accountable, but only time will tell. So what do I have planned? Blog: Reader survey. I’ve wanted to do a reader survey for a few months now, but just haven’t been able to get to it. I know they’ve been so helpful for others…

    April Goals

    April Goals

Before I get into my goals, I wanted to remind you all that today is World Autism Awareness Day. Are you wearing blue? I pulled out my blue polka dot skirt I got from one of my Stitch Fix boxes, and I’m so glad I did – yay for spring weather and skirts, right? I love that there’s a day to celebrate individuals with autism – Abbie’s wearing her blue aunt shirt today in honor of her Aunt Rachel.  Anyway, it’s been a while since I’ve sat down and done a monthly goals post. I used to do them pretty…

Setting Small SMART Goals for Weight Loss

Setting Small SMART Goals for Weight Loss

In my Weight Watchers meeting on Saturday, if got another reminder of why if love these meetings so much. Every week, there’s a specific topic every Weight Watchers meeting touches on. This week, we talked about goals and how to have a plan to meet them. Goals can be really specific or really broad, but in my experience, it’s the small, specific goals that are the best. They’re a lot easier to meet, and it creates a snowball effect. At work, they’re often called SMART goals – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. As much as I hate to use…

    Spring Goals

    Spring Goals

It’s once again time to link up for Five on Friday with Darci, April, Christina and Natasha – this week I’m sharing my goals for this spring!   {ONE} Lose 15 pounds.  I’m hoping to lose 5 pounds a month until I hit goal weight, and that puts me at 15 pounds for the spring.  It’d be really nice to fit back into some of my old clothes again.  Would you all be interested in the actual numbers?  It’s scary to share exactly what I weigh and what I’m trying to get to, but I think it might help with my accountability.  Every little bit helps! {TWO}…

    Happy 2014!

    Happy 2014!

I love New Year’s – it feels like a fresh start, a catalyst for change and bettering yourself.  Rather than resolutions, I like to set goals of things I’d like to accomplish.  They’re different each year, but there’s a few big ones this year. Being on time for things.  I seriously struggle with this, and always have.  It drives Chris crazy.  I’ve tried to do better with it before and it’s lasted a few weeks, but this year I’m hoping it sticks.  I’m sure it’s frustrating to be on the other end and be waiting on someone, and I really…

    Fall Goals

    Fall Goals

It’s finally my favorite season of the year, and I’m so excited for sweaters, loving that football is back, and downing some homemade salted caramel mochas. (Sorry, I like them better than pumpkin.  Yes, I went there.)  I love the feeling of newness that comes with fall – I almost feel like there’s a reset button.  It probably comes from all those years starting school in the fall, but Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) is this coming weekend as well.  On that note, I wanted to set some goals for myself for the fall! {ONE} Lose 15 pounds by Thanksgiving.…
