    Christmas 2016

Well, Christmas 2016 is in the memory books. I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend, and I wanted to pop in to share a little bit of ours (get ready for a photo dump). We’re fortunate that our parents live close by, so we were able to spend time with both sides of the family. I actually really loved that Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, since that meant Chris was home Christmas Eve day as well.  The girls let us sleep in (seriously, they were both still in bed at 8am!) and we headed to Weight…

    Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Sticks

    Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Sticks

When the holiday season comes around, so do all my favorite flavor combinations. I love them all, but chocolate and peppermint has always been my favorite. Add in some pretzels, and it’s the perfect sweet and salty holiday snack. I love to make treats to give away to family and friends, so I whipped up these Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Sticks as a fun snack to gift. They’re super easy to make, so they’re great for kids to help with too. Just be careful not to eat them all – you’ll want to!   Enjoy – and I dare you not to eat…

Holiday Thank You Gifts Made Easy with BJ’s Wholesale Club!

Holiday Thank You Gifts Made Easy with BJ’s Wholesale Club!

The holidays are now in full swing, and I feel like I’m struggling to keep up with everything. There’s so many fun events going on this month, and did I mention I just had a baby? Oh, and our tree isn’t even up yet. I want to be sure I don’t forget the important things this holiday season, so I’m always looking for ways to make things easier.   One of the things I love to do during the holidays is give small gifts to the people in our lives that help make our everyday lives easier – people like…

    Thanksgiving 2016

    Thanksgiving 2016

I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend! Thanksgiving is truly my favorite and always has been, so I was sad to see the weekend end. We had a fun weekend celebrating Ella’s first holiday, but of course didn’t take nearly enough photos. I really need to work on that! Thanksgiving day we got up and headed to my parents’ house in the morning, just in time to catch most of the Macy’s parade. Watching the parade is a huge tradition in my family, and its one I love getting Abbie excited about. She watched a lot of it…

    November Goals

    November Goals

It’s time for my monthly goals check, and I’m happy to report that keeping it simple is doing me wonders. I like having only 5 goals to hit every month since it made things so much more attainable. So how did October go? October’s Goals: Create Buttons for my sidebar. So, I technically did this November 1, but I’m counting it as complete because to me, it’s close enough! 12,500 steps every day. Finally did this again! Have a date night with Chris. Chris and I had a movie date to see The Intern. Celebrate my birthday! I had a great day celebrating with…

    Reflecting on the High Holidays

    Reflecting on the High Holidays

In addition to it being the first day of fall, today is also Yom Kippur, which marks the final day of the Jewish High Holidays. I don’t talk about my faith much, as I feel it’s a deeply personal thing. This time of year, though, the High Holidays, is one of my favorite times and I can’t help talking about it. It begins with Rosh Hashanah, one of the sweetest holidays in the Jewish calendar – the mark of a new year, a chance to be the best you can be going forward. It’s a time of hope, celebration, and as…

    Independence Day Weekend

    Independence Day Weekend

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend! We had a great one complete with family and fun, but no fireworks. We’re strict about bedtime around here. Since Independence Day fell on Saturday this year, we were fortunate to both have Friday off. Since the weather wasn’t the best (it’s been raining here a lot lately), we hit a Weight Watchers meeting before heading off to the mall. I made the mistake of luring Abbie into Pottery Barn kids… …and I’m pretty sure I’ll need to find one of these vanities used somewhere. Sometimes I wish their…

    Father’s Day Gift Ideas

    Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day is sneaking up on us fast, and I don’t know about you, but all I’ve bought so far is a card (sorry, Chris). I still have a few more days so I know I’ll be okay, but I know I can’t be the only one not done yet! I’m so looking forward to spoiling Chris a little bit this weekend. That said, it drives me crazy when people spend crazy amounts of money on Mother’s and Father’s Day. I’m all about the experience and spending time together, so I prefer to keep it simple and affordable. I’ve put…

    Our Christmas 2014

    Our Christmas 2014

Good Morning and happy…. Tuesday? Sorry, hard to keep track while on holiday break from work…. okay, I’ll stop bragging now. Especially because once I go back on January 5th, I don’t get a holiday until Memorial Day. Karma and all that. We had such a fun Christmas, and I hope you all did too! We had a quiet Christmas Eve at home, complete with easy sugar cookies (sometimes you just have to go with the pre-made refrigerated ones). That night, Santa ate his cookies and left Abbie lots of surprises under the tree. It took a bit of coaxing…
