  • Finding Me Time as a Mom

Finding Me Time as a Mom

Let me set the scene for you. It’s 6:45 pm. You’re in the middle of making dinner for yourself and your husband. Your five-year-old is yelling that she needs help in the bathroom (when do they learn to do that themselves, anyway?), your toddler is whining for her dinner as you scramble to get some chicken nuggets on her high chair, and you’re dangerously close to setting off your smoke detector again.

    October Catch-Up

    October Catch-Up

Let’s do an old-fashioned catch-up post, shall we? Things have been a bit busy around here getting ready for me to switch jobs, so a life update is in order, right? Everyone at my office has been so supportive of my job change. It’s been a weird two weeks, working on projects while knowing I’m leaving. There are a lot of people that work remotely on certain days, so I’ve already started saying goodbye to people, and it’s just a strange feeling. On Friday, I’ll walk out of this building for the last time as an employee, and it’s just a…

    New Beginnings

    New Beginnings

You know that saying about how one door closes, and another one opens? I can never remember the exact wording of it, but it’s exactly my life right now. Big changes are happening in our neck of the woods. What are they, you ask? Well, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that on Friday, I put in my resignation at my current job. Don’t worry, this isn’t some sweeping announcement about quitting my job to blog or anything like that – something like that is just not in the cards for us. Instead, I’m finally moving on to…

    Our Fourth of July

    Our Fourth of July

Happy Friday friends! Summer is flying by and I can’t believe we’re already over halfway through the year! I want to get back to sharing more of our everyday, so what better way to do that than sharing our Independence Day? We spent the afternoon with my in-laws and got in some time at the pool. Ella still isn’t completely thrilled with it, but she was a good sport. Abbie, as usual, had a blast and preferred the kiddie pool to the big pool. Ella’s suit is from Target’s Cat and Jack line and I just couldn’t resist it. Those ruffles…

    Five on Friday

    Five on Friday

Hi guys! I promise I’m still here. I took a bit of an unintentional blogging break this week and am hoping to get back to normal this week. I think we all need a little break sometimes, right? Anyway, I’m jumping back in with a five on Friday and a little life update! ONE If you didn’t notice, my blog got a bit of a facelift! (Click over to the full site if you’re on a reader to see it.) I loved my old design, but I was ready for something a bit fresher and simpler, and I’m so happy with…

    Currently – October 2016

    Currently – October 2016

Don’t worry, I’m still pregnant. Since baby girl is making no signs of showing up anytime soon, I thought I’d do a quick little currently post on what we’ve been up to lately – I haven’t done one of these in a long time, so what better time than when we’re waiting for baby, right? So here’s what I’m up to currently… Reading… Emily Giffin’s First Comes Love. I put a lot of things on hold at the library a while back and of course, they all came in at once. I’m thankful to have one I find interesting again.…

    7 Meal Planning Tips

    7 Meal Planning Tips

Do you have those things in your life that you do every week, or even every day, without fail? Those things that are so routine, so normal in your life that you don’t even think to talk about? I think we all do. I was talking to some people at work the other day, and I realized that for me, one of those things is meal planning, and that’s something that other people struggle with. I’ve been a meal planner for as far back as I can remember. In high school, I cooked dinner most nights once my mom went…

    Five On Friday

    Five On Friday

I feel like it’s been ages since I did a five on Friday post, so I thought I’d jump in with one today! Here’s what’s been going on in our lives…. ONE Abbie is all moved into her big girl room and loving it. I need to do one more thing (spray paint her bookshelf) and I’ll declare it officially done. Baby’s room though? Not a single thing done. I really need to get on that… or at least turn the crib back into a crib from a toddler bed. That’s step one, right? Seriously, there’s just random stuff everywhere…
