Three Easy Solutions for Your Game Day

It’s so hard to believe that football season is just about over and the biggest games of the year are here! We are huge football fans in our house – the TV has football on all day long every fall, despite Abbie and Ella’s protest to watch kids shows. Sorry kids, but it’s football season.

With football season comes hosting Game Day get-togethers. Now let’s be real here – I’m a full-time working mom and I want to enjoy my weekends. That means the food for all of these get-togethers needs to be two things – tasty and EASY. Recipes that make my life and hosting easier? Sign me up. I trust my local Walmart to get everything I need to host, especially all the Tyson products I needed for these recipes. They had everything I needed – and one stop makes things easy for this busy mom.

First up, an appetizer that will fly off your table. Seriously – my husband couldn’t stop eating them!

Bacon-Wrapped Smokies

Ingredients

1 package Wright Bacon ®

1 package of Hillshire Farm ®  Lit’l Smokies ® Smoked Sausage

1 package shaved parmesan cheese

1 package of pitted dates

Toothpicks

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a sheet pan with non-stick spray or line with non-stick foil (my method of choice).

Cut the bacon slices in half.

Carefully wrap the Lit’l Smokies ® – place a pinch of shaved parmesan between a date and a Lit’l Smokies ®, then wrap in a half slice of bacon. Push a toothpick through the whole thing to keep it wrapped while it bakes.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, until bacon is crispy.

Let cool, then arrange on a platter and serve!

Notes

Makes about 25-30.

Another thing I like to do is a simple salad. Since so many people are being careful about what they’re eating – a simple salad with some protein is the way to go, and Tyson ® Crispy Chicken Strips add protein and some crunch! This isn’t even a recipe – just make the salad of your choice (or even easier, buy a bagged salad) and add the Tyson ® Crispy Chicken Strips on top! Easy salad, done.

Finally, it’s not game day without some sandwiches, right? I whipped up these sliders using Hillshire Farm ® Honey Ham, Pastrami, and a little mustard. Easy and everyone loves a slider, right? Food doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious!

I love that I was able to get everything I needed for hosting our Game Day get-together in just one stop at Walmart. Tyson really has such a great selection of foods that make it easy to be a great host and have something for everyone. Also, did you know they have a reward program?
