At 3.5, she’s just now starting to test her boundaries and figure just how far she can push me. She’s learning that throwing an angry crying fit over something rarely gets to me, but the moment she falls and bumps herself, I’m right there. She’s learning that I can’t resist when she asks me to color or read to her, but there’s no way I’m letting her eat goldfish crackers for every meal. She’s learned that a snuggle can make both of us feel better and that daycare pickup is both the happiest and most frustrating part of the day (she never wants to leave, which always makes more traffic).
We all have our own challenges in motherhood and handle them differently. We’re all in different stages of it and different walks of life – but we all need a little bit of an escape sometimes – and reassurance that we’re not alone.
That’s why I started FX’s new series Better Things, a new comedy focused on Sam, a single mom of three and all the real life situations she deals with. While Sam’s daughters are all older than mine, it’s nice to get a glimpse of the real things ahead of me.
Sam’s just a real mom doing her best, and we all are. To celebrate the premiere of better things, FX sent me a swag bag, and one to give away to one of you, too!
The swag includes:
- Ray-Ban Sunglasses
- Chipolo bluetooth keyring
- Leather Clutch for mom’s things
- Emergency Beauty Kit
- Hypoallergenic travel pillow
- Ultra-Soft travel pillow protector
- Essential Oils Blend Mini
- Skinny Lip Balm
- “Credit Card” Mints
To enter, head here to check out Better Things and leave a comment letting me know your thoughts on the show – what did you relate to in the previews and why? I’ll be picking one winner to ship out the swag bag to!
This promotion is open until September 28, 2016 at 11:59 pm EST and is limited to US residents, 18 years or older. The winner will be chosen randomly. Winner must respond to email within 24 hours or prize may be forfeited.

The show was pretty entertaining! I’m not a mom yet, but I hope to be someday…with the high points and struggles of that crazy hard job! 🙂
I think Better Things looks like a funny show. I don’t have any kids, but I still relate to the Bed Eyes clip because I hate being disturbed when I’m sleeping.
I can relate to the smoke detector clip. It was hilarious and I can relate to it because one small thing can turn our house into chaos.
Ohh I heard great things about this show, I totally need to make sure to sit down and watch the whole thing, because after seeing that pillow scene I know I’d like it!
