Odd Mom Out

Parenting. It’s not the easiest road, and there are a million choices to make. I’ve found that often, I’m not making the most popular choice. Often I’m the Odd Mom Out… and I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Most people use disposable diapers – I chose to cloth diaper. Women push themselves to make breastfeeding work at any cost – I stopped worrying about it when my supply was low. Many moms (especially in blogland) make the choice to stay home – I work full-time. Kids are put into fancy Montessori programs or rigorous preschools – I don’t even know if I’ll be sending Abbie to preschool. So, so many times, I’ve been the fish out of water, and I don’t see it stopping any time soon. I’m a firm believer that we all make our own choices in parenting, and I’m not going to cave to the most popular one. I’m the Odd Mom Out.

Odd Mom Out 1

That’s why I was so excited to preview Bravo’s new scripted show, Odd Mom Out. Now, I’ve been a Bravo fan for years (it was a deciding factor in every TV package we’ve ever picked). I’ve always loved their reality shows, but I love that Bravo is taking it scripted… and the results are hilarious. After all, the network that gave us real housewives definitely knows the how ridiculous moms can get.

Odd Mom Out focuses on Jill Weber, a New York mom that doesn’t quite fit in with her in-laws. Instead of being worried about maintaining appearances in the upper echelon of New York society, Jill loves so many of the things we all do – old diners, girl talk with her (awesome) best friend, and dancing around in her underwear. Pretty sure we’ve all done that one. So while in my crowd, Jill would fit right in, among her in-laws and the parents at her kids’ schools… she’s the Odd Mom Out. And you know what? She OWNS it.

You guys are going to love this show – check out the trailer here. I know, you know this post is sponsored. The thing is, I was looking forward to watching this anyway, and I was so excited to get this special preview. Trust me on this one. Make time in your schedule or room on your DVR. Odd Mom Out premieres on Monday, June 8, and you won’t want to miss a minute!

Now, while you’re waiting for the premier, make sure to download Bravo’s mobile app – The Daily Dish (available for Android and iPhone)! Through the Daily Dish, you can catch up on your favorite Bravo shows and stars, PLUS you’ll be eligible for exclusive VIM (Very Important Mom) discounts from partners. In addition, you have the opportunity to win $20,000 in each of the first 4 weeks of premiere episodes (starting June 8-29) through the Tune-In to Win Sweepstakes. Tune in live at 10/9 Central on Mondays starting June 8th for the secret hashtag and tweet it out to @BravoTV each week for their chance to win! I know I could definitely use $20K (hello paying off debt), and I bet you could too.

So pour yourself a Mom-Osa or a Mom-Ito and give yourself a half hour to watch Odd Mom Out. You won’t regret it!

  1. If something you do as a mom is working for you and your family, keep doing it, I say. No matter what, there will always be someone who disagrees and disapproves.
