Weight: About 24 pounds. We have a well-check next month!
Health: Good. She had (and passed along) a stomach bug this month, and she’s been having a bit of a flare-up with her left eye. She’s had a clogged tear duct for a while that flares up sometimes, and we think it’s related to the weather. We’re just trying to keep it clean and smearing on her prescription of erythromycin to get it to clear up. If it doesn’t clear up soon, we may need to take her to an opthamologist.
Sleep: Sleeping through the night every night! She’s starting to have issues with her naps though, and it may be time to think about transitioning down to one nap.
Social: She’s trying more and more to communicate with us, but most things just end up some form of “me me me.” She points at everything while trying to express herself, and she’s in love with the cats. She likes to chase them around the room, pet them, and give them kisses…so we’re trying to teach her “cat.” We’re also working on “done” for when she’s done with dinner. She’s more and more interactive by the day, and is really starting to play with other kids.
Diet: Abbie gets 3 7 ounce bottles of whole milk per day, before naps and bed. She also has 3 meals plus snacks, and has really taken to breakfast food lately – she loves waffles and pancakes and gobbles them up….especially with syrup. Actually, she loves ketchup too – further proof she has my taste buds. She loves water and has been much better about eating the lunches I pack her for daycare lately.
Clothes: Still in 18 months, but some are starting to get snug. I’ve got a few consignment sales coming up to get her stocked on 24 month and 2T stuff! She’s getting so big so fast!
Baby Gear/Toys: She LOVES her klip-klop princesses from Fisher Price…along with TV remotes, our phones, the pots and pans, and the tupperware. She also loves to look at books and will hand one to you before climbing in your lap so you can read it. I’m not sure where she picked it up but it’s pretty much the cutest thing ever.
Crying: Just when her temper gets the better of her. She gets mad, throws things on the floor, decides she actually wants them, and points at them for us to pick up. Silly silly girl.
Likes: Toys, Books, playing “where’s Abbie,” the cats, dancing, jumping, being chased by mommy and daddy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, being outside.
Dislikes: Diaper changes, being told no, getting ready for bathtime (but she’s fine once she gets in), getting her hair washed.
Milestones: Lots of birthdays, her second Valentine’s day, and a big snowstorm!
Little Bug,
You are just hilarious right now and so fun to be around. You continually surprise me on the things you learn, and what a happy little girl you are. I keep seeing glimpses of your relatives in you – the way you smile, the way you dance, your giggles…but they’re all uniquely you. I’m so thankful I get to be your mom and help you grow up into the lady you’ll one day be. I love you.

What a cutie! She’s getting so grown up in such a short time! The transition to one nap for us was awesome – Callie actually napped longer! If you can try to skip over 24mo clothes… I found they didn’t last long at all and wish I had focused more on 2T (we had a mix but too much 24mo). Why do they all hate diapers and love MMC? 🙂
