Abbie: 15 Months

Weight:  According to her well-check up, she’s 23 pounds, 7 ounces.  I think she’s closer to 24 pounds.  She’s 50% in weight, and at 33 inches, she’s off the charts in height!

Health:  Good.  I talked to the NP at her well-check about her tear duct, and she said if it only flares up with weather changes, it’s nothing to worry about and her own daughter had it.  If it starts to get bad consistently, then we’ll have to see where that takes us.

Sleep:  Sleeping through the night every night.  She takes one nap at daycare, but at home she sometimes gets two, depending on how she’s feeling.

Social:  She points at EVERYTHING.  She babbles all day long, and since we’ve been better about taking the pacifier away during the day, it’s been more and more.

Diet:  Sometimes 2 bottles, sometimes 3.  She also has 3 meals plus snacks.  We’re still working on getting more veggies into her diet.

Clothes:  Some 18 month stuff still fits, but I’m starting to bring out the 24 month and 2T stuff now that we stocked up on it at the consignment sale.  She’s mostly too tall for things, so I got more 2T stuff than 24 month when I was shopping.

Baby Gear/Toys:  Still loving her klip-klop princesses and books.  She’s taken more of an interest in her chalkboard table too – drawing rather than just putting the chalk in her mouth.

Crying:  Just when she doesn’t get her way.  When she starts crying about something, we say “Mommy, I’m mad.”  It’s just funny sometimes and there’s nothing else you can say!

Likes:  Books, her ball, being outside now that it’s finally warming up, playing “where’s Abbie,” the cats, dancing, jumping, being chased by mommy and daddy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and any and all music.

Dislikes:  Diaper changes, the word no, getting her hair washed.

Milestones: More and more snow, and a great visit with Grammie and Grampy!

Baby Bug,

You’re not such a baby any more and that personality of yours keeps getting more and more vibrant.  You’re so much fun to play with now and I want to hear your giggles forever.  You are sweet and funny and the light of our lives.  We love you, little one!

  1. Happy 15mo big little girl! Love the “pebbles” like pony on top of her head! Callie is super tall too so I feel you — I’ve even had to grab some 3T shirts for length. Oh the pacifier – yup when we got down to just naps and bedtime talking exploded too 🙂 The only veggie trick I have is smoothie and Callie still LOVES food pouches so I get the fruit/veggie blend ones a lot.

    1. Abbie won’t eat ANY pouches anymore. I think it’s a good thing, but it does make veggies hard. I may try some smoothies…except I don’t like them so I hope she’s not like me in that respect!

    1. Haha thanks – it’s the only way to keep her hair out of her face! Chris is pretty tall, but I’m only 5’3″-5″4″ ish, so that comes from his side I guess!

I’m Jess! I’m a working mama of two sweet sisters living in the DC area. This is my space to share inspiration, real stories of working motherhood, recipes, style, and more!
