Stitch Fix: April 2017

April Stitch Fix time! I’ve been meaning to blog this fix for a solid three weeks. Life just kind of got in the way, but now that my May fix is in progress, I didn’t want to completely leave this one out! This fix had one comical item and a few maybes, but one ultimate winner. Let’s get to my fix!

Kaileigh Felton Bell Sleeve Top – XL – $38

So, true story – the blush color trend? It doesn’t work on me at all. Basically, blush is the color of my skin, so anything that color just blends in completely and looks terrible. This one was so bad it was comical, and I knew from the moment I saw it coming on the Stitch Fix app that this one would be ridiculous on me. The fabric has no give to it either, and it’s entirely too short. I like the bell sleeves on this, but that’s about it. I’m surprised I’m even brave enough to put this photo on the internet, but I think people need to see how it fits.Verdict: Returned.

Margaret M Sylvie Printed Straight Leg Pant – L – $98

I had asked for a pair of these pants since I really like the Emer pants I have from the same brand – I have two pairs and wear them all the time. I liked these, but I felt the print was just a little bit too much for me. It was really distracting and I didn’t feel confident in these. I also don’t like that the pockets are lined with a mesh material – basically, it renders the pockets useless. For the price on these, I’d have to love them to keep them, so these went back with no regrets. Verdict: Returned.

Market & Spruce Carl Ruched Knit Dress – XL – $58

This dress. I really liked this one – I felt it was really flattering on my body, it was easy to wear, had a great price point, and it would be appropriate for both work and weekend. The only problem is that it’s completely not nursing friendly. Since I would definitely want to wear this on weekends, that’s a necessity in this kind of dress right now. I really loved the ruching, but it just didn’t make sense to keep it when it wasn’t going to work for my current lifestyle. Verdict: Returned.

Dear John Trist Chambray Bomber Jacket – XXL – $78

Another item I liked but the fit wasn’t quite right. My upper arms are huge (something I’m self-conscious about and want to work on), so shirts and jackets without any give are difficult. This was so cute, but just a hair too snug in the arms. I was so sad to send it back since I did need a spring jacket and it would have gone with so much in my closet! Verdict: Returned.

Pixley Priya Mixed Material Tank – XL – $54

Finally, the winner of the box! I love the bright springy floral and the mixed fabric in this top. It’s nursing friendly since I can just lift it up, and it works for both work and weekend. I can layer it easily so I know I’ll wear it all spring and summer and into the fall, and it’s just an all-around winner. Verdict: Kept!

That’s my box for April! For my May box, I’ve asked for all tops, so I’m excited to see what I get! If you’d like to sign up for your own Stitch Fix, you can use my referral link to do that here!

  1. Ahhh, that dress looked FANTASTIC on you! But, I completely understand having to weigh lifestyle into these decisions. Hopefully you wrote down the info so maybe once you’re no longer breastfeeding you can find that beauty again! 😀

  2. The dress and tank are both gorgeous on you. Good job on buying only what you can use/wear now. I have so many things in my closet that I bought for when I lose weight. Some are out of style by now! My upper arms are a huge problem. I have to wear larger sized shirts because of it. It’s also one of the first places to shrink when I lose weight.

    1. Thanks! I’m trying to be very intentional with my clothing purchases so I just couldn’t justify it right now. My arms never seem to shrink though, always an issue!

  3. Aw bummer about that dress! It was SO cute! I’ve already gotten out of thinking whether something is nursing friendly or not…but I’ll be back in that before I know it!

  4. Oh my- that blush top. I LOVE Blush but I agree that it was way too short and the 3/4 sleeves made the whole thing look like you were wearing the wrong size. It was very brace of you to post those photos. Nothing like showing off a top that really isn’t a flattering fit.

    1. Honestly, it was so bad I just thought it was comical! I’ve definitely taken worse photos of myself though, so this actually wasn’t too bad!
