Beer Baby Two: 25 Weeks

I feel like the moment I started doing pregnancy updates on this little one, I knew this was going to happen – totally inconsistent updates. While with Abbie I documented (almost) every week, this little girl is not getting the same treatment. (Sorry, baby girl – I promise I love you just as much, but your big sister keeps me busy.) Anyway, I’m popping in today with a quick update on this babe at 25 weeks!

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 Weeks

Size of baby: About 13.6 inches and 1.5 pounds – a large cucumber!

General Thoughts/Feelings/Mood: Everyone keeps asking me how I’m feeling, and honestly, I really feel pretty normal, just with a belly and her moving around in there every so often. I stopped wearing my wedding rings a few weeks ago because I’m super paranoid about swelling too much, but my feet aren’t really swelling yet. I definitely feel like with this baby I’m much more just belly, while with Abbie I carried more all over the place.

Food Aversions: Nothing really – pretty lucky here!

Food Cravings: I like carbs, but other than that, this is pretty normal too! I do have quite a variety of cereal in my locker at work for snacks though!

Health/Fitness: I’m doing okay. I don’t pay too much attention to how many steps I’m getting nowadays, but I’m totally okay with that. My weight has been holding steady for the past few weeks – I’ve gained right around 23-24 pounds, according to my records. My doctor has it as less since they’re counting from my first appointment, whereas I’m counting from the moment I took the test. I’m okay with it, but I’m hoping I stay steady for a few more weeks before the massive weight gain starts.

Doc Appointments: All good – my blood pressure looks good, which is always a concern when you’re on the lookout for preeclampsia, and they’re happy with my weight gain and say I’m measuring great. My next appointment is at 28 weeks (third trimester!) and then I start going every other week, which is totally crazy to me. I also have my glucose screening scheduled and I’m dreading that.

Symptoms: I really feel pretty normal. Hopefully it keeps up!

Sleep: Still good. I wake up once or twice a night to pee, but thanks to my snoogle (and thanks to a friend of mine for letting me borrow it!) I fall asleep again pretty easily.

Movement? Tons! She used to kick way down low, like in my pelvis, but has recently moved up higher, kicking more on my right side. Then she moves lower again. She’s just a wiggleworm.

Gender: Girl!

Maternity Clothes: Absolutely. I’m still wearing the side-panel pants from Old Navy (these) and they’ve held up pretty well. I’ve also gotten two maternity Stitch Fix boxes that I have yet to blog, but I’ve gotten some great pieces. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to blog them soon!

Miss Anything? Not really.

Baby Items Purchased: I took advantage of Prime Day and grabbed a new diaper bag (this one) and a ladybug light (here) like Abbie has. I also grabbed a piece of wall art, but that’s it so far. Right now my focus is on getting Abbie’s big girl room set up so we can start changing up the nursery.

Best Moments So Far: Just talking to Abbie about the baby. I try to talk a little bit every day to get her used to the idea of this little person about to join our family. Also seeing my niece over Fourth of July weekend and soaking up those baby snuggles – crazy we’ll have our own in just a few short months!

Weekend in Charlotte

Most Unexpected Moment So Far: Nothing I can think of – this pregnancy has thankfully been pretty uneventful.

Looking Forward To: Finishing Abbie’s big girl room and starting to re-do the nursery.

Abbie: Sort of gets it. She gives kisses and hugs to my belly, but only when I mention it. She hasn’t been able to catch baby kicking yet, but hopefully soon!
