Beer Baby Two: 40 Weeks – Due Date!

Well, as I expected, my body likes to grow babies the entire 40 weeks… and then some. Happy due date, sweet girl! Consider this final bumpdate your eviction notice and GET OUT!

40 Weeks

How far along? 40 Weeks!

Size of baby: About 20.2 Inches and 7.6 pounds – a pumpkin. For size reference, Abbie was born at 41 + 2  – she was 21 inches and 8 pounds, 2 ounces.

General Thoughts/Feelings/Mood: I don’t know how many more times I can say I’m done. I’m uncomfortable as all get out and she’s putting pressure everywhere since she’s basically out of room in there. I know it’s good that’s she’s been so healthy in there…. but seriously kid, it’s time to get the hell out.

Food Aversions: Same, none.

Food Cravings: Same, none.

40 Weeks

Health/Fitness: Still holding steady at about 34-35 pounds gained. My blood pressure has been okay until now, so that’s good, and I’m so looking forward to talking a walk with her on the outside rather than in!

Doc Appointments: I had one this afternoon, as well as a non-stress test to make sure all is okay in there. All good, and no dilation, as I expected. My doctor thinks I’ll go all the way to my induction, which is set for 11/3 if she doesn’t decide to come on her own.

Symptoms: So, so uncomfortable and so much pressure. I’ve been having mild contractions on and off since Sunday, but they stop and have made no progress. My body is like a vault.

40 Weeks

Sleep: Thankfully, still sleeping. The snoogle is the best invention ever – if you’re pregnant, get yourself one. I wake up to pee about 3-4 times a night.

Movement? Yep, still squirming around. Tuesday she was actively moving my belly for a solid hour – to the point I saw it from the outside. Guess what, little girl? There’s more room to move out here!

Gender: Girl

Maternity Clothes: Yes, and I’m so, so tired of them. I really can’t wait until my clothes fit again.

Miss Anything? Have you read the rest of this update? My clothes, walking without being out of breath all the time, sleeping on my stomach, wearing my wedding rings… I could go on, but I’ll stop there.

40 Weeks

Baby Items Purchased: I did finally buy some disposable diapers this week for right when she comes home until her cloth diapers fit, so there’s that.

Best Moments So Far: Setting an induction date. No matter what, she’s getting evicted by November 3rd.

Most Unexpected Moment So Far: Having contractions that go on all day and stop at night. So, so annoying.

Looking Forward To: Her arrival. Seriously, girlie. GET OUT.

Abbie: We keep telling her baby sister is coming so soon, but I’m hesitant to tell her home many days until induction because it could be off (but knowing my luck, I’ll go all the way to induction). She understands numbers of days pretty well now, and I don’t want to throw her off. I’m so, so ready to see her be a big sister – you can read the letter I wrote to her here.

40 Weeks

Any bets on when this baby is coming out? Anyone want to guess her name? (Hint: It’s an E name!)

  1. Yay!!! Come on baby girl, we all want to “meet” you! 🙂 I hope you have a relaxing last few days until she gets here (since I saw on IG that she’s really comfy in there) and that you enjoy your time with Abbie. I’m gonna guess Emerson. 😉 HA ha!

  2. Oooh an E name!!! Maybe Emma? Or Ellie/Eleanor? Emery? Elizabeth! Ella? Evelyn?! Lol, I love E names!

November birthdays are pretty great…if she so chooses 🙂

  3. Good luck mama! You look great! My first was 41wks and 2 days also. Now I’m at 36 wks with our 2nd and wondering if I will have an iron clad tummy too! I agree, I can’t wait to have my own clothes back! My daughter is excited for her little sis too. Here’s hoping everything goes well and you all are healthy! 🙂

  4. So exciting! I hope she arrives sooner rather than later, but she’s in charge. ? You look terrific! My name guess is Elena, or maybe Elisabeth, Emma or Emilie. Good luck! ?
