Time for another bumpdate…. one day late (hey, I’m super pregnant, it happens)! Here’s the state of Beer Baby Two this week…
How far along? 36 Weeks (and one day)
Size of baby: About 18.6 Inches and 5.8 pounds – a honeydew!
General Thoughts/Feelings/Mood: Am I done yet? Seriously, am I done? Some days I’m just SO tired of being pregnant, and others I’d be fine staying pregnant. It’s a weird balance. Most of the time, I feel okay as long as I get to bed early enough and don’t overdo it, but others I’m just completely wiped out. My temp started at work yesterday though, so that’s a huge sigh of relief to not have to worry about who’s going to do my job while I’m out! She seems to be learning quickly, so here’s hoping she catches on and I can go into my leave with no worries about her!
Food Aversions: Nothing? Everything? Same old story here.
Food Cravings: The lemon loaf craving has mostly passed, but nothing’s replaced it. I do seem to want carbs, but I’m trying to not give in too often in an effort to keep my weight in check. I still have four weeks until my due date and I don’t need to gain a ton of weight here at the end!
Health/Fitness: Mostly okay. I did have a big jump in my weight from my 32 week appointment to my 35 week appointment, so I’m trying really hard to watch and keep it steady now. Most days, I still get 5,000 to 6,000 steps, so that’s helping as well. Last night was my last dose of baby aspirin (you stop it at 36 weeks in anticipation of labor), so hopefully my blood pressure doesn’t spike or do anything crazy now that I’ve stopped it.
Doc Appointments: I’m on weekly appointments now and had my appointment yesterday. Everything looks good – blood pressure, weight (stayed the same as last week – yay!), all of that. Of course, I have no sign of dilating at all, which is exactly what I was expecting. I never dilated with Abbie until I was induced. My doctor also confirmed baby girl is head down, so that was reassuring. I did get my Group B strep results back and I’m positive, so I’ll just need antibiotics in the hospital, no big deal. So a good report all around!
Symptoms: My hips hurt by the end of the day, every day. I’m carrying this babe all in front, so it’s hard on them. I also get a little bit of heartburn at night, but one tums typically knocks it out real quick. Other than that, it’s like the first trimester returned – tired, headaches, and constipation. The third trimester is so weird and exhausting.
Sleep: Never seems like enough, but I am still sleeping okay. I usually wake up 3-4 times a night for bathroom breaks, but I’m usually able to fall back asleep easily.
Movement? Yep. In fact, the other day she was moving so much in there I saw my belly move from the outside. I don’t remember that ever happening with Abbie, so it was really cool to watch.
Gender: Girl!
Maternity Clothes: All the time. I miss my old clothes, especially during fall – fall clothes are my favorite.
Miss Anything? Regular clothes, sleeping on my stomach, being able to carry things up and down the stairs (I slipped carrying laundry the other day and Chris has forbidden me from doing that anymore), not getting winded so easily. Oh, and my shoes fitting…
Baby Items Purchased: I ordered her name decal for her wall this morning, but in true superstitious form, I’m having it sent to my parents’ house under my sister’s name. I’m too superstitious to have it in the house until she’s here! I did also pull out the boxes of baby clothes in the basement, and it’s on the agenda this weekend to go through them and wash everything. I also need to find all the bottles I saved from Abbie because I know they’re around somewhere…
Best Moments So Far: Getting near the end? Oh, and getting some of our maternity photos back. I’ve shared a few on Instagram and Facebook, but I plan on sharing more of them next week. Our photographers just do a great job, every time.
Most Unexpected Moment So Far: Seeing my bellymove from the outside – that was pretty cool.
Looking Forward To: Baby’s arrival! I have plans next weekend so I need her to wait until after that… but anytime after? Come on out, little one!
Abbie: Is totally into “helping” me with baby sister’s room – here’s hoping she’s the same once she arrives! She also put her Cabbage Patch doll in the swing since we’ve already set it up, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign since she’s practicing. We’ll see – Chris and I really aren’t sure exactly how much of this whole process she gets!

So did you go with white or gold for her name??
Getting so close! So exciting!
So I ended up completely changing the decals to clouds – white ones – and then went with gold for her name!
So exciting – love your polka dot top! You’re in the home stretch!!
Finally. Come out, baby girl!
Wow you are so close! This is so exciting. We’re all wishing your blood pressure won’t spike. h
Thanks, me too!
I am really wishing for her and I to share a birthday — November 1!
Haha, no offense but I want her to come sooner than that….
