Love & Hate

Love & Hate

On Monday I saw that Stephanie had tagged me in a fun little post called Love and Hate… as in ten things you love and ten things you hate. I love these kind of posts, so obviously I was going to join in. I just can’t resist. Things I Love… My family. I think that’s pretty self-explanatory, huh? They’re the reason for everything I do, and I wouldn’t be complete without them. I’m so thankful for them every day – two of the best parts of my day are the “Hi, Mommy!” I get from Abbie when I pick her…

College Stories

College Stories

I arrived in Blacksburg with my sisters last night, and I have to say that it’s so amazing to have a reason to come back here all the time. I’m sure I can’t be alone in that college was some of the most amazing times of my life, and it’s already been fun telling my sisters some of my stories. Like the time we went to Macado’s and ordered basically every “cheese” thing on the menu. Cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, grilled cheese sandwiches, macaroni and cheese… it was ridiculous, and one of those things that’s so funny later even if…

Currently – July 2015

I figured it had been a while since I did one of these, and they’re always some of my favorite posts – a little snapshot of what’s going on in my life. So what’s up currently? Reading… The King’s Curse by Philippa Gregory. It’s been on my wishlist for ages, so when it popped up on sale in the kindle edition the other day (for only 1.99!) I snagged it. It’s been a while since I read one of Philippa Gregory’s books, and she’s always been one of my favorites. It’s still on sale if you want to grab it!…

Ask Me Anything

Ask Me Anything

May is flying by. I can hardly believe that we’re nearly halfway through the month already. Before we know it, it’ll be Memorial Day and the official start of summer. One thing I love doing from time to time (especially when I see new people stopping by around here) is to give you the option to ask questions. I feel like there are so many things I’m curious about in other blogger’s lives. How do they handle situations? What products do they use? What is their favorite secret Starbucks order that I need to know about because it’s delicious? Do…

What I Wish I Knew When I Graduated College

What I Wish I Knew When I Graduated College

This morning, Timehop popped up and reminded me of what happened nine years ago today – I graduated from college. Nine years. It simultaneously seems like yesterday and forever ago, because I can remember it so clearly. I was excited to be done but sad to leave. I was ready to take on anything (or so I thought). Those nine years have brought a lot of change in my life. While I’ve done a lot of the things I thought I would, I haven’t done others. Looking back, I just didn’t know where life was going to take me once…

10 Things I Miss About Virginia Tech

10 Things I Miss About Virginia Tech

Today, I’m skipping all those Friday linkups. As you read this, I’m either on the way to or already at my alma mater, Virginia Tech, to take my little sister for a visit. She’s been accepted and I’m happy to help her make the (right) decision. Totally kidding. I want her to go where she wants to go. That said, there’s so many things I love and miss about my school on a regular basis, so I thought I’d share in honor of my visit. Go Hokies! Hokie Football.  I think this one’s self-explanatory if you know me, but if you…

Finding Balance

Finding Balance

I don’t know if it’s been evident, but I’ve been struggling a little bit lately. Maybe struggling is a bit strong of a word, but it seems like there’s just too much going on. Too much to do. Too many thoughts. Too many things I want to do. Too much sleep I’m not getting. Anyway, it’s been a little hard for me to find the balance lately. There are so many things I want to give my time to, and with working full-time (and commuting nearly 2.5 hours/day), it’s just hard. It’s so hard lately to find time to do…
