Currently… November 2015

You guys – we’re MID-November. I feel like once Labor Day hit, we started rushing toward the holidays. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying it’s been busy around here! I also realized I hadn’t done one if these fun currently posts in a while, so why not today?

Reading… Ugh. Nothing. I am massively failing at my reading challenge for the year and I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be able to catch up. Whenever a pocket of time pops up to read, I always seem to find something else that needs to get done.

Wearing…scarves! My sisters gave me a pretty lavender one for my birthday and it made me realize I need more scarves in my life. I seem to have a lot of pink ones, so I’m on the lookout for some other colors!

Listening… to random mixes on Spotify and satellite radio. My favorite morning radio show got canceled last week and I feel lost without it. I’m still mad and am boycotting that radio station for the foreseeable future.

Making… lists of what to make to bring  for Thanksgiving. It’s my favorite holiday and I look forward to the food all year!

Wishing… to have the weekend back. Abbie and I had a blast with Sarah and Zachary and I so wish they lived closer!

Abbie and Zachary

Looking forward to… heading to Blacksburg this weekend! It’s Frank Beamer’s last home game and my sister snagged me a ticket, so I’m heading down early Saturday morning to go to the game and bring her home for Thanksgiving break. Blacksburg is my favorite place on the planet, and I can’t wait to see it again.

Hoping… traffic is kind to me the rest of this week. The holiday season makes everyone a little crazier in the DC area, and my commutes have been awful.

Eating… sour patch kids. They’re my guilty pleasure lately.

Drinkingthis Cranberry Vanilla tea. I spotted it at Wegmans over the weekend and just couldn’t resist! Oh, and coffee, of course. My sisters also made me a pair of mugs for my birthday and I’ve been using them at work!

Going… to Blacksburg this weekend!

Spending… my money on holiday gifts. I’m starting to nail down what I’m getting for everyone (some thanks to my friend Sara’s gift guide here) and the gifts are slowly being ordered. I really want to be done by November 30th!

Wondering… what shenanigans Abbie is up to at daycare. Yesterday she took her pants off multiple times… because they were corduroys and not leggings. She prefers leggings all day every day… but I didn’t buy enough for her. She’s crazy – the corduroys are one of the cutest things in her closet but she hates them!

Wanting… to find some cute holiday jammies for Abbie. I haven’t loved anything I’ve found and she needs at least one pair for Christmas eve!

Missing… my husband. Work travel is for the birds.

Feeling… tired. Abbie has been really wearing me out with all her attitude and sass… only to be the most adorable kid ever 5 minutes later. She makes me scared for her to be three.

Loving… snapchat. I don’t know why I resisted for so long but I’m hooked… and Abbie loves watching other kids on snapchat too. My username is beingmrsbeer if you want to add me!

  1. ‘Currently’ posts are my favorites, too! I literally gave a little LOL when reading about Abbie at day care. What is it with toddlers and preschoolers?! Maddy is pretty finicky too about what she wants to wear clothing wise and some days, it’s all I can do to even get clothes on her (seriously – the other morning I had an argument with a 4 year-old because she couldn’t understand why she couldn’t be in public naked. This is my life, sigh.)

Hope you’re doing well otherwise!! XO

    1. And it came out of nowhere! She used to let me put anything on her and now it’s “No blue pants!” (jeans) “No stripes!” “No _________!” Just everything. Sorry kid, you have to wear clothes when we leave the house. Non-negotiable!

And it’s good to see you back in the blog world! 🙂

  2. Love this post! Thanks for the shoutout! And I’m also obsessed with Snapchat lately. Mim also loves watching the other “babies” and saying “baby” over and over as we watch. I cannot wait for Thanksgiving this year! We’re hosting a small dinner a few days later so we can have leftovers for ourselves! I’m cracking up at Abbie taking off her pants at day care! Mac does that too! He hates anything other than sweatpants, so I finally bought him 12 pairs of them at Old Navy and he’ll never have to wear jeans again!

    1. I think Abbie’s favorite snaps to watch are yours – seriously. I think she may be in love with Mac… or maybe just your playroom….

And I’m so glad I don’t have the only crazy kid who takes her pants off if she doesn’t like them. Our daycare was scared she was going to take her diaper off!

    1. I basically never want to leave the east coast JUST because I’d miss it too much. Wegmans is the BEST.

  3. Currently posts are one of my favorites! I hope traffic is good for you this weekend. 🙂 I think I’m going to need to jump on the snapchat train.

  4. Love these posts and am currently working on my own 🙂 I’ve been obsessed with scarves lately too! We’ve actually had some cold weather (well cold for us) and I’ve been ALL about the scarves!

    1. Glad you got a chance to wear some scarves… although your version of cold is probably my “no, I don’t need a jacket” weather….haha.

  5. I don’t know if Abby’s ready for or likes nightgowns but Target had some really cute ones and they are buy one get one 50% off and free shipping on everything! Oh pants! The drama of girls. I have a hard time getting Callie to wear any pants but for sure they have to be leggings because she still only wants to wear dresses. But heaven forbid the leggings be “tight!” I LOVE that coffee mug you have! It’s beautiful!!!

    1. I was actually thinking of getting her some nightgowns for Christmas so I’ll take a look! And yes, SO much drama and so picky!
