I arrived in Blacksburg with my sisters last night, and I have to say that it’s so amazing to have a reason to come back here all the time. I’m sure I can’t be alone in that college was some of the most amazing times of my life, and it’s already been fun telling my sisters some of my stories.
Like the time we went to Macado’s and ordered basically every “cheese” thing on the menu. Cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, grilled cheese sandwiches, macaroni and cheese… it was ridiculous, and one of those things that’s so funny later even if you don’t know why.
Or the time we “borrowed” a light up reindeer from one of the houses in Blacksburg. We named him Rudy and he lived on our balcony from late November or early December until April, when we returned him… and hoped it was the right house.
Like the time one of my roommates was in the hospital and they wouldn’t tell us where she was. We were angry and worried… and there was a sign that had fallen down in the parking lot. Hey, we were just picking up the trash, right?
Or that time we had a pajama party that just happened to fall on my birthday.
Like every football game where we were screaming and cheering and just so happy to be in Lane Stadium.
Or when we went to Smith Mountain Lake, where they filmed Dirty Dancing, just because we felt like it.
While I could just keep going, those are the ones that stick out the most for me… and I know my sisters will have completely different ones. Just like I have these stories to tell them, they’re going to have stories for me.
I can’t wait to hear them.

I so wish I could do it again!
Love it!!! College memories/stories are the absolute best! The cheesey meal made me laugh 😉
I feel like I had a stomachache for days afterward…..
Aww love college stories and memories! It’s fun to look back at mine too! The cheesy meal sounds delicious and fun!
So. Much. Cheese. But so worth it!
It’s so much fun to return to your college town! My college best friend actually works on staff at Cru at Va Tech, and I’ve visited her a couple of times in Blacksburg. SUCH a cute and fun little town! My favorite was French toast at Gillie’s. 🙂
It’s my favorite place! And yes, the french toast is all kinds of amazing there!
Where they filmed Dirty Dancing?! Oh my goodness #JEALOUS. That is so very cool.
It really was! I think they filmed parts of it somewhere else, but the main house is the one in the movie!
OMG College stories – seriously the best. Loved reading through yours – so funny!
Thanks girl!
