Happy Friday all! As always, I’m happy to see the weekend, especially after we had a holiday last weekend and this week was a full week. I am beyond ready for 5pm to roll around and to have a few days with my family. Anyway, let’s get to this week’s five…
ONE
My mind has been so full lately, of all the things I want to do, need to do, my life… just a lot of noise going on inside (but that’s a post for another day). I had been thinking about it for awhile, but I finally splurged this week and bought an adult coloring book. You guys, it’s trending for a reason – it’s pretty great. I always loved coloring as a kid and getting the page to look exactly as I wanted it. I spent about half an hour last night and the night before coloring, and it may sound silly, but it’s helped. All you have to think about is coloring, and it really helped quiet my mind.
TWO
You may know that I adore the British Royal family and would LOVE to be friends with Kate… but I’ll settle for seeing adorable photos. I love the photos released of Princess Charlotte’s Christening and they just look so happy. They all deserve it after the crazy that family went through.
THREE
Abbie’s vocabulary is finally starting to explode – as in, she’s said a few short sentences at this point. She’s constantly talking nowadays, and I love it. I want to know what she thinks, what she wants… everything. Everyone said I’d want her to stop talking once she started, but I don’t at all. She even talks to herself in the crib after we put her to bed, and I listen on the monitor. I just want to hear her talking all day long.
FOUR
Being a working mom has been really hard lately – especially since she’s started talking so much. Now that she can say how she’s feeling, it breaks my heart to leave her. This morning, she was crying and reaching for me when I said goodbye to her at the car. Chris takes her in, and when I kissed her, she said “Mommy” and pointed to the front seat. It made me so sad that I couldn’t go with her, and I’m hoping this day flies by – I can’t wait to pick her up.
FIVE
As of today, there are 59 days until Hokie football. Yes, I’m counting. #GoHokies
Happy weekend all!

I should get an adult coloring book! It seems like a great way to relax and clear your mind, plus be creative.
I loved the pictures from Charlotte’s Christening too! George is adorable!
You should – they’re awesome!
I know a lot of people who have been coloring lately! What coloring book is this?
It’s a pattern one I got from Amazon – they have TONS on there!
I LOVE coloring 🙂 I’m glad that more people are starting to do it now too. Also, I love hearing my littlest one talk – Nora (who’s 4 now) I could do without some of the constant talking but when Annika talks, it’s adorable.
It’s so great when they finally start talking more, right?!?
I would love a coloring book or two! I have looked at them on Amazon, but I haven’t bought one yet. I am very tempted! I’m glad Abbie is talking a lot more! I know how you feel because my older son didn’t speak in sentences for the longest time, other than garbled noises, which really was talking for him. After two sets of ventilation tubes, which made very little difference, we found out that he was moderately to severly hearing-impaired in both ears. It’s been a long journey, needless to say. I never understood it either when people told me that one day I’d wish that he’d shut up! Have a great weekend!

Exactly – I WANTED her to talk! Now she talks more and more every day, and it’s the greatest.
Being a working mom is so hard sometimes. Other times, it’s great. But yeah, the heart break.
It really is so hard sometimes.
How have I not heard of these adult coloring books until now?! I love coloring and am super excited to get one!!!
They’re awesome! Let me know what you think when you get one!
