Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend and remembered to take a moment to honor the reason for the holiday. We took full advantage of our three day weekend, and I think Abbie’s in withdrawal – she certainly did not want to get up and back in her routine this morning.
We started out Saturday with a drive to Richmond (hello, awful traffic) for my Goddaughter Sophia’s 2nd birthday party. I didn’t manage to take a lot of photos, but I grabbed a few of the girls swinging together. They are about a year and half apart, and my best friend (Sophia’s mom) is also expecting a second girl about 7 weeks ahead of me. I love that our girls will grow up knowing each other- I just wish we lived closer!
On our way home, we stopped to see my dad at work and ordered Abbie’s new bed – the very first step in her big girl room! (My dad works for a mattress store so that made it easy). Abbie had the best time running around the showroom and making friends with my dad’s coworker. We ended the day with a stop at my parents’ house, so Abbie got spoiled by my mom and sisters too.
Sunday was the day Abbie had been waiting on for weeks – we headed over to my in-laws to go to the pool! We don’t have a pool in our neighborhood (we have a waterpark nearby instead), so we headed up there for the day around lunchtime. Abbie was so excited – she’s literally been asking to go to the pool for weeks and she just had the best time.
We ended the weekend with a lazy day – grocery shopping for me, a trip to the playground for Chris and Abbie, and lots of snuggles all around. We were all sad to see the weekend end, but I’m ready for a lot more fun summer weekends to come. I foresee a lot of pool time – after all, how else is this pregnant mama going to cool off?
Have a fabulous start to your week, friends!

Sounds like a great holiday weekend! So cool that your best friend is expecting another girl as well. Love Abbie’s little swimsuit. So cute. And that last photo of all three of you is so sweet. A framer, for sure.
