Like many offices, my office has jeans day every Friday, and it’s always for a cause. Every year, we vote on four charities and all the donations from jeans day go to those charities. It’s a great way to ease into the weekend with a little bit more casual style while giving back to our community. One of this year’s charities is a local elementary school, so we also have the option of bringing in gently used books – such a great, tangible way to give back.

Even though it is a jeans day, we do have some guidelines – they have to still look clean and polished. They also shouldn’t have holes in them, which is one of the reasons I stay away from distressed jeans. As I’ve said in the past, I like to make sure most things in my closet can work for both work and home, and classic dark jeans always fit the bill.
This outfit I put together on a whim – I’ve been wanting to try pattern mixing for a while, and like the thought of these pieces together. The simple black and white stripes don’t compete with the floral – I think tying them together with the black background really helps!
Adding a fun scarf is a simple way to add a pop of interest to any outfit, and this still looks professional enough for our jeans Fridays while still being casual. Of course, I wore my favorite Liverpool boot cut jeans – they’re my favorite for a reason. They’re so soft, and I wear them all the time. I’m excited to keep mixing patterns together in the future – this was one of my first ideas and I’ll be combing my closet to pick out new ones!
Do you have a casual or jeans Friday at your office? Have you tried pattern mixing at all?

Love love love that scarf! I love pattern mixing. I find I put it more on H than myself, but I love the concept! Great look!
H always looks freaking adorable.
At my old school we could wear jeans on Friday if we paid as well. I loved that and it was great to give charity. Super cute outfit.
Thank you!
This is a great pattern mix! Our jeans day is similar, but we have to wear school colors.

I love the stripes with the floral scarf! Such a great outfit.
