Happy Friday! I hope you all had a fabulous week and are ready for the weekend! It looks like we’ve gotten our last bit of winter this morning since we woke up to a dusting of snow, but it should be the last storm of the season! I am definitely looking forward to spring and all the things that come with it! Here’s my five for the week!
ONE
With spring on the horizon, I went on a little seed-buying spree the other day – everything from herbs to peppers and tomatoes. Last year I wasn’t the most diligent about my plants but we still got a few good ones, so I’m hoping this year we do better! I’m planning to get the seeds started this weekend in hopes they’ll sprout quickly… seeds are so much cheaper to buy than plants and I love having fresh veggies and herbs right on my deck!
TWO
I am slightly obsessed with the Pillowfort collection at Target. I’m starting to think about Abbie’s “big girl room” and they just happen to have the perfect comforter! We still have a lot of the lavender paint we used in her current room, so when we eventually move her, we’ll be using the same color… and this comforter is beyond perfect – and this pillow, this lamp and shade, and these storage bins. I’m tempted to go ahead and buy it even though we’re a ways off from a big girl room – girlfriend needs to potty train first!
THREE
Speaking of potty training…. I’m hopeful we’re almost there. Abbie is quickly approaching the weight limit for her cloth diapers (35 pounds) and I am certainly not going to start buying disposables after all these years of cloth! I had previously said I wasn’t going to push her… but it’s time. Chris and I need a break from diapers and I think she’s ready, just stubborn. We’re changing her crib over to a toddler bed this weekend (so when we get to it she can get out to go), and I’m hopeful that will kickstart something for her. Our daycare provider is moving houses in the middle of the month, so I think we’ll start shortly after she moves, since she’ll be doing the bulk of the training during the week. If you have any other tips, send them my way!
FOUR
I made these Lucky Treats with Abbie last night after dinner – super easy recipe coming soon to the blog, and they’re perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!
FIVE
Next week we’re going to have weather in the 70s and I just can’t wait… except this means I may have to buy some spring clothes (sorry Chris).
Have an amazing weekend all!

Not sure what you are doing for potty training now, but my advice is to stop using diapers and put her in regular underwear when she is at home in the evenings and on weekends. She’ll pee or poop in them and realize it’s yucky and a mess. Combine the underwear wearing with every fifteen minute or half hour trips to the potty to give ample opportunity for usage. Good luck!
We haven’t even started other than talking about it, so thanks for all the tips!
I’m so with you on being done with diapers! Can you even imagine how many we’ve washed, tried, stuffed? Insanity. The Easter bunny is bringing undies and we’re going full on potty training before pool season starts. I do not want another swim season in swim diapers! We got this!
So. So. Many. Let me know how you do with that! I really have to depend on daycare to do most of our training, so we’ll see how it goes! I hate to put that on her, but she’s with her so much during the week it’s just a necessity!
Oh goodness I saw the Pillowfort stuff at Target the other day and had to walk right past because I knew it would suck me in. Love!
I may have already ordered a few things…..
What worked for Noah was going totally pantless. With underwear of pull ups on at the beginning, he would just go. I guess it felt too similar to a diaper. He never had an accident when bare because he was super aware. Once going to the potty was routine we added underwear and pants. And did pull ups when out until we were confident he’d tell us and had enough control to hold it til we found a bathroom. Took 2-3 weeks until he was completely trained (other than when sleeping). While it may be different since he’s a boy, feel free to ask me any questions you have 🙂
That’s what I’ve heard. If I was home with her, we’d probably go that route, and may do it on weekends… but during the week we’ll have to see how we can do it at daycare. So many variables!
Those Lucky Charms treats look delish! What a great March treat!
They’re posted – enjoy!
Haha, I can relate to all of these!! Chad and I just talked about buying ourselves new wardrobes. We’ve cut back for the last few years because #kidsareexpensive, but we both need a few hundred dollars worth of stuff. Don’t mind if I do!! 🙂 Cam is 38 pounds and in diapers…we’re cutting it close, but he is SO STUBBORN. He just does not want to go! I am hoping it’ll happen soon….everyone says “it just happens one day!” I’m still waiting for that day! 🙂 Um, did you see that Pillowfort is 20% off this week! So fun! Can’t wait for that recipe, either!
Yep, come on kiddos! Cooperate here!
And that 20% off definitely persuaded me to have a few things ordered and headed my way!
The pillowford collection is amazing! I want it all. 🙂 Those treats look yummy! I think Mason and I need to make some soon. And we got a taste of Spring this weekend and it was lovely. But now we are supposed to have storms rolling in this week. Boo! Give me all the sunshine.
We’ve had amazing weather this week and I hope it continues! And some of the pillowfort collection MAY already be headed my way….
