Stitch Fix: December 2015

Happy Tuesday! I know a lot of people are starting to sign off for the holidays, but I’m not done quite yet – and I’ve got my December Stitch Fix to show you today! If you haven’t heard of Stitch Fix, it’s a clothing subscription box that I’ve grown to love over the past year and half (details are at the bottom of the post). So what did I get in my December fix?

Stitch Fix December 2015

In my note to my stylist, Darla, I asked for a roomy coat and to just surprise me with the rest. As you’ll see in a moment, this was a great fix, and it was really hard to decide on a few things. I’m trying to be more intentional about my closet and what I add to it, so sometimes even if I like something, I end up sending it back. I only want to be keeping things I love!

Market & Spruce Hebel Knit Lined Anorak Jacket – XL – $128

Let’s start with the coat. Darla always does a great job of taking my requests into account for my fixes, so I was happy to see her include this. It actually fits really well, and it really comfortable. It’s lined in a sweatshirt-type material that’s really soft, and the hood is detachable. That said… I was actually looking for something a little more heavy duty than what this is. This is a case of “I like it, but….” it just isn’t something I absolutely LOVE. Now, the price honestly has quite a bit to do with that. At $128, I do think it’s overpriced. This is much more of a fall jacket than winter, and it just wasn’t what I was looking for. If the price point was under $80, I might have kept this. Verdict: Returned.

Romolo Riley Cube Layering Necklace – $28

This necklace is nothing like what I expected it to be, but I actually really like it! I’m really into the long, delicate necklaces lately, and this one is a great length. The cubes give it a bit of sparkle and I know this will look great over so many of my sweaters and tops to give it a little something extra. Verdict: Kept!

Loveappella Nerbi  Long Sleeve Lace Keyhole Back Knit Top – XL – $58

Loveappella Nerbi Long Sleeve Lace Keyhole Back Knit Top

This shirt is straight from my Pinterest board and honestly – I love it. I love it to the point that I tried looking up where I can get more of this brand since I’ve only heard amazing things about them. They’re not sold in a lot of stores, so I think I’ll just be requesting a lot of this brand! Anyway, back to the shirt – The body of it is a super soft tee shirt material, and the sleeves are a gorgeous lace. The sleeves are a little long, but for how much I love this shirt, I can deal with that. It’s appropriate for both work and home, and versatile pieces like this are EXACTLY what I look for in my closet. Verdict: Kept!

Brixon Ivy Sylvester Split Neck Blouse – XL – $54

Brixon Ivy Sylvester Split Neck Blouse

This is another item straight off my Pinterest board. I pinned this originally because of the color – these vibrant pinks and purples are colors I’m always drawn to. I liked it when I put it on. It’s comfortable and the color is good on my skin. But looking at it, it’s definitely a no. Where it flattered other people that I pinned it from, it just made me look bigger and boxier. Not a good luck. Verdict: Returned.

19 Cooper Cathleen Metallic Dot Tulip-Sleeve Blouse – XL – $68

19 Cooper Cathleen Metallic Dot Tulip-Sleeve Blouse

When this showed up in my box, I honestly had forgotten I pinned it! This is one of those things I really went back and forth on. One – it’s super cute and unique. Two – it’s a little shorter than I like for my shirts. The question is, did I like it enough to keep anyway? When I tried it on, I kept a cami on underneath, and honestly? It worked! I can see myself wearing this a lot – the colors are neutral, but versatile and fun, and I love polka dots. In the end, I decided I loved it too much to send back. Verdict: Kept!

I kept 3 out of 5 this fix, which is actually one of the highest amounts I’ve kept in a long time! I was really happy with everything sent, and had the other things had a few tweaks, I might have kept them all. Now to wait for next month’s fix!

  2. I agree with everything! I love love love that black top on you with the lace sleeves. And that polka dot top is AMAZING. I might need to request that one in my next fix! Cute stuff!

  3. I really enjoyed your review. I’m on my 3rd fix and I’m really loving it. The things you kept looked great. I was happy to see that you are an XL like I am. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one!

  4. Girl you are way WAY too cute in these photos! Adorable. Love what you kept but especially the long sleeved! I might have to pin that one for myself 🙂

  5. Wow! Everything looked great but I have to agree with your summations. Gonna have to check out stitch fix.

  6. I followed to your blog from a Stitch Fix Review. My body type is much more similar to yours than the pics on their home page, so I wanted to see what you thought. I completely agree with your assessments. I like the 1st jacket, but wouldn’t have paid the price. I loved the black long sleeve, but especially too heavy (I get so warm)! Most of all I loved loved the necklace and the polka dot top. I would have kept the order exactly as you did! Cheers!

    1. Yep, it was just too much money for that jacket and I don’t regret sending it back. I’m actually wearing the black top and necklace today! Thanks for stopping by – I should get my next fix on the 21st so I’d love to see what you think of that when I post it the following week!
