Stitch Fix: November

Happy Monday! Let’s start it out with something fun and get to my latest Stitch Fix, shall we? If you’re new to Stitch Fix, it’s a subscription box service for clothes… and something that’s truly changed my closet! Details are at the bottom of the post!

Stitch Fix November 2015
Pixley Leevie Dress – XL – $78.00

Pixley Leevie Dress

I was really surprised to see this dress in my fix, to be honest. Darla sent it along as an option for holiday parties, and I love that she’s thinking ahead like that for me… but honestly, we almost never go to fancy parties! This was super cute and I loved the sparkly sequined shoulders. I definitely don’t have anything like it, and it was really fun to try on something different. That said, I thought it fit a little weird around the top – too snug on my bust (common for me), and that armholes were too big. If we had anything fancy coming up, I might have thought about keeping it since it’s so fun, but it just wasn’t practical to keep it combined with the fit issues. Verdict: Returned.

Mystree Jackie Striped French Terry Asymmetrical Jacket – XL –  $78.00

Mystree Jackie Striped French Terry Asymmetrical Jacket

This jacket was cute and fit really well. It’s a great color and the stripes add some visual interest, but I just didn’t see myself wearing it a lot. The only place I’d really wear something like this is at work, and it’s usually not somewhere I’d keep a jacket during the day, so it would really just be keeping my chair warm. It just wasn’t me. Verdict: Returned.

Staccato Madrid Mixed Material Knit Top – XL – $54.00

Staccato Madrid Mixed Material Knit Top

This shirt really confused me at first. The gray part is soft and stretchy, while the plaid is a stiffer, more structured fabric. I didn’t really like this at all. I really felt like it was trying to be two different shirts, and I think it made me look wider where the plaid hit on my sides. Verdict: Returned.

Pixley Nilla Button Back Sweater – XL – $68.00

This sweater… it was probably the biggest disappointment of my fix. I really wanted to love this, but it was HUGE on me. HUGE. Otherwise, it was exactly me – soft, comfortable, and had a cute detail with the button back. I thought about asking customer service to exchange it for a large, but I wasn’t even sure a large would fit right, and you can’t return exchanges. I think if this had fit properly, I’d be wearing it right now. Verdict: Returned.

Liverpool Loren Bootcut Jean – 12/31P – $78.00

Liverpool Loren Bootcut Jean

In the note on my last fix, Darla asked if I’d like to try some bootcut jeans since I had some pinned. You guys, in high school and college, I LIVED in bootcut jeans (I think we all did.). I’m so excited that they’re coming back in style since I definitely like how they balance out my frame. And these ones? They’re the softest jeans ever. I didn’t know a pair of jeans could be this soft! They also fit perfectly since Darla knew to get me a petite, and I’ve already worn them! Verdict: Kept!

That’s a wrap on November’s fix! Even though I only kept one item, I do feel it was a great fix – my wallet doesn’t need me keeping everything all the time, right?

  1. Bummer it was only a 1/5! I do love the jeans though and am glad you kept them. That button down the back shirt is super cute, but I’d be afraid to exchange too just because you can’t return the exchanges. Other than that, I agree with all your decisions. Hope your next fix is better!

  2. Those jeans looks super soft & look great on you! Good choice! I wasn’t wild about your other items either, but all it takes is one item!

  3. I am kind of excited that bootcut jeans are back in style. It took me forever to fall in love with skinnies though. These look awesome on you. Definitely worth keeping! Too bad about the Pixley sweater though because that color looks fantastic on you!
