I know a lot of you have heard about Teddy’s story, and I’m so honored to spread the word if you haven’t. Teddy is the 10 month son of Mary and Alex Fish, and in November he was diagnosed with Menkes syndrome. Menkes affects copper levels in the body due to a genetic mutation, and babies with a typical case of Menkes do not live past three years. Menkes currently has no cure. We’re working to raise awareness of the disease, since early intervention with a copper treatment program can make a big difference. You can read about Teddy’s diagnosis and see the CaringBridge site here, or follow along with his Facebook page. We’re all Team Teddy in this house and are hoping one day there’s a cure for it!
Well, Abbie and I are at home again today – her daycare is closed, so we’re hanging out at home while Daddy goes in to work. the roads are much better but not great, and I’m hoping to get outside for a little bit today – at least for some snow pictures.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, I found this fun picture on Facebook and sent it to Chris…I’m not sure if he quite believes me.
I’m kind of sad that Abbie isn’t at daycare today – I really wanted to send in Valentine’s with her, but it’s not going to happen….kind of sad. I’m so ready for winter to be over and stop messing with our holidays!
