Happenings Lately

I’m going to be honest here guys – I am BEAT this week. Our Memorial Day weekend was a whirlwind of activity, and I don’t think any of this craziness is going to stop any time soon. Which equals a tired mama over here. Since I haven’t done it in a while, I thought I’d just pop in with a little bit of what we’ve been up to lately.

This weekend…well, it was crazy busy. We started with hanging out at Burke Lake park on Saturday with Abbie’s Aunt Erica and Uncle Doug (my brother-in-law and his wife). Abbie had so much fun – they have a playground, a carousel, and a train ride. Naturally, Abbie didn’t want to leave.

Sunday we took a trip down to Richmond for my goddaughter’s birthday party! We had so much fun celebrating with Sophia and her family. Side note: Sophia’s actual birthday is today, so happy birthday sweet girl! She is just the sweetest thing and was so dainty with her smash cake!

We spend Monday with my in-laws and had every intention of making it to the pool, but that didn’t happen for Abbie. She had a blast with her Grammie and Grampy though and of course ate her weight in my homemade mac and cheese (and mommy may have had a bit too). I took a bunch of photos at the playground… but they’re still on my camera. Of course.

Since we were so busy all weekend, I’ve really felt a bit run-down this week, like I can’t seem to catch up. My list of errands is growing longer by the minute and I wish I had an extra day to get it all done.

In other news, I’m finally going to call a new pediatrician for Abbie this week to get her switched to somewhere closer. I’ve been meaning to do this since our move… in September. Oh well. #betterlatethannever

I’ve got a sponsored post up here, and I would love if you guys would check it out. 🙂

I can’t get enough avocado lately. As in, this bowl of guacamole I made on Monday? I probably ate at least 1/2 of it by myself. (Also, super easy way to great guac – buy fresh pico de gallo at the grocery store, mash up avocados, and dump it in – so easy!)

Bedtime, once my favorite time of the day with Abbie, has become really difficult lately. For one, Abbie doesn’t want to go to bed, which makes me feel super guilty during the week because she just wants more time with us. She also gets really frustrated because she still isn’t talking a ton, and it’s hard for us to understand what she wants. She’s just a slow talker, and I’ve come to terms with it… but it definitely makes things more difficult. When she’s throwing a fit because she wants something, we have a hard time figuring out what that thing is. Once we get her in bed, she does go to sleep just fine… it’s just getting there that’s hard.

I go back and forth about sharing a lot of info on essential oils here because I don’t want to bombard any of you with it, but it’s really hard not to. I will be sharing a bit on the weekends going forward so you still get the normal stuff if you’re here for that every day. That said, if you have ever been interested in trying essential oils, I encourage you to join my Facebook group – there’s a lot of information in there, and I’m running a promo right now for those of you that want to give them a try!

I’m hoping the rest of this week flies by and this weekend leaves me better rested because I need it!

What’s happening with you lately?

  1. Sounds like a very full weekend, no wonder you’re tired! Even though I LOVED having the long weekend it’s really thrown me off this week and I keep being so confused about what day it is, lol! That guacamole idea is genius, I’ve never thought of making it that way!!
