Stitch Fix 13

You guys know by now that Stitch Fix is one of my favorite things. I received lucky number 13 last week, and it was my favorite fix yet.

You may remember from last time that I was getting a little bit frustrated with my fixes lately. I had gotten dolman tops multiple times despite hating them EVERY time, and I really felt my stylist was no longer really jiving with me. After that last one, I sent a note to customer service. In it, I asked for a permanent note to my profile of no more dolmans, as well as a new stylist. I think it was just time… and I’m so happy I did that. I asked for work tops, an everyday bag, and another pair of Margaret M Emer pants… and my new stylist, Darla, delivered my almost perfect fix! On to the fashion show!

Stitch Fix Review 13

Item 1 – 41Hawthorn Filbert Abstract Striped Henley Blouse – XL – $58.00

41Hawthorn Filbert Abstract Striped Henley Blouse

I LOVE this blouse. I actually already own two of these that I’ve purchased from Facebook swap groups, and they’re my most-reached-for tops in my closet. They’re perfect for work and I can wear them on the weekends too. I love the print of this one too – so fun! Verdict: Kept!

Item 2 – Margaret M Emer Textured Cropped Straight Leg Pant – LP – $98.00

Margaret M Emer Textured Cropped Straight Leg Pant

Oh, these Margaret M pants – I love them. I requested them. I love the fun color and there’s even a subtle pattern. The catch? See how short they are? Too short. Rather than sending me a size Large, I received a size Large Petite… and they’re too short for my 5’4″ frame. I wanted to keep these so badly. I even sent an email to customer service to see if they had the correct size… no dice. I’m so sad to send these back, but I’m not going to wear them if they’re too short. Verdict: Sent Back.

Item 3 – Urban Expressions Marsha Bowler Satchel Bag – $68.00

Urban Expressions Marsha Bowler Satchel Bag

I’m pretty tough on bags, in that I keep the same one forever and use it until it starts to break down. I really was starting to need a new one, so I asked for one in this fix. Darla delivered! It’s hard to tell from the photo, but this is a really pale pink that works as a neutral. It’s just the right size. Obviously, this had to stay with me. Verdict: Kept!

Item 4 – Bancroft Carly Multi-Stone Layering Necklace – $36.00

Bancroft Carly Multi-Stone Layering Necklace

This necklace is straight off my pinboard! I have been in love with these long necklaces for a while now. They’re easy, add a bit of color, and just complete an outfit. This one is a no-brainer – I love the color and the detail. Verdict: Kept!

Item 5 – Daniel Rainn Minal V-Neck 3/4 Sleeve Solid Blouse – XL – $68.00

Daniel Rainn Minal V-Neck 3/4 Sleeve Solid Blouse

This was the only miss of the whole box. I did like the color of this, but it’s just a bit too blousy for me. If the rest of the box had been a hit, I would’ve kept it just for the discount. Since it’s not, this went back. Verdict: Sent back.

Overall, this was my absolute favorite fix yet. If I have more like this, I’ll have to get them less often so I don’t spend all our money!

  1. Ironically I asked for petite pants at 5’4″ (I have short legs though!) And my biggest complaint about my regular Emer pants is they aren’t cropped on me – they are the length of regular pants. I really wanted them to be cropped ankle pants. So apparently I should ask for petite!

    1. Haha, and see, I want my Emers to be full length so I can wear them to work! I feel like when they’re cropped they look silly on me. It’s funny that the regular “cropped” of these work on me as regular length pants! Also, I totally didn’t know they were going to send me petite in these and was super sad they didn’t have an exchange.

      Also, I miss you. <3

  2. Not bad!! Love the items you kept!!! I’ve only done one stitch fix so far and it was a bust. Like terrible. After talking to customer service I’m giving it another try in June so hopefully it goes better.

  3. The green pants were super cute, but I would never be able to pull them off. The shirts were great too! I will probably do another fix in the fall. I love the clothes and the material is impeccable, but the prices are a little steep. Thanks for sharing Jess!

    1. They are, so it takes some budgeting. My normal goal is to keep one piece each box, and our budget can usually handle that.

  4. Oh, I LOVE all of these on you! Total bummer that you don’t like the pants—I love that length on you, actually! Like cropped pants and then you can show off your cute shoes. Also LOVE the color of that last one and if it looks great on you. Great box! I so want to do one of these, but I don’t know what size I am/will be because of this postpartum craziness.

    1. See, and I feel like cropped pants just make me look shorter. I dunno. I was REALLY sad about them though! You so need to try it, but I understand not knowing what size you are!

  5. I’ve REALLY been debating on setting up an account with them. I love that you’re able to make requests! I had no idea you could do that so thanks for sharing! LOVE that first top and your bag!

    1. Hope you give them a try! They do allow you a spot to kind of tell them what you’re looking for. Most of the time I’m not super specific, but always make sure to use positive language, since that’s what the computer picks up on (the computer reads your note before a stylist does). So I write about what I want rather than what I don’t!

  6. I would have loved all of those items, too! Too bad about the ant, because they’re a great color on you! I love that bag!

  7. Oh I’m so sad for you about those green pants!! They are awesome. The rest of your box is really great though. The color of the necklace, the bag, and the blouse you kept are all fabulous. I can’t wait to get back to normal size and bring back the fix boxes!!

    1. I am seriously STILL sad about those pants. I have so many things I could wear them with!!! And you’ve gotta be close to normal size already. You look amazing, mama.

  8. I love this fix! I haven’t bitten the bullet yet with Stitchfix but this post is tempting me to do so!

    1. You should definitely give it a try at least once or twice! (and if you do, please come back and use my referral link!)

  9. Every time I read these posts, I wish that I did stitch fix! I really love the items you received this month!

  10. Love that top and purse! I’m short, too, and I sometimes have to cuff “short” length pants and jeans. I also have short arms, so I wear 3/4 length shirts! I really liked the coral top on you for casual wear. It looks like changing stylists was a good move!

  11. Oh, I really liked it all! The first top looks great on you. I have been so happy with all my Fixes lately that I was starting to worry I’d buy more shirts and pants than I really need … but I never ask for any accessories. Yours are super cute and make me think I could mix up my profile requests a bit to request those in the future.

    1. I actually really love getting accessories, even though a lot of people don’t. It’s kind of a “just in case” thing, if anything. If I don’t like the clothes in my box, there’s a good chance I’ll like the accessory. It allows me to have something to keep if I don’t like the clothes!
