So, I’m hopeless at Halloween costumes. I wasn’t even sure we were going to have Abbie dress up, but now that I’m leaning toward taking her trick or treating… I need some help. As in, I don’t want to spend $30 on a poorly made costume from Target (sorry Target, I love you, but not that much).
My main concern is that she’s comfortable and warm. I figure she’ll only last a few houses before we head inside, but you never know what toddlers will surprise you with! As much as she would look adorable in a princess dress… it’s just not warm, and typically it’s pretty chilly here by the time we get to Halloween. I would love something homemade, easy, and inexpensive. Of course, I can’t decide on anything… see why Halloween is difficult for me?
I started a Pinterest board for ideas, but I’m still stumped. What do you think Abbie should be for Halloween?

Luke’s going to be a puppy, I found his costume on clearance from Sears online for $8 🙂
Nice!
I’m a little biased but I love the black cat costume! Last Halloween, I made a cat costume based off of that pin. I used orange & black tulle for the tutu to change it up. Everything is easy to make and I’m not much of a crafty person. You can decide what shirt and pants/tights to wear based on the weather. Last year, I found a black turtleneck and paired them with black skinny pants so she wouldn’t get too cold. My daughter got many complements.
I’m still trying to decide what my daughter will be this year. Good luck! There are many cute ideas on your pinterest board!
Oh good to hear it’s easy!
I love the black cat – but I was a cat when I was little so maybe I’m feeling nostalgic. Simple costumes that can use solid hanes sweat pants and non-hooded sweatshirts as the foundation (plus a layer underneath) would be nice and warm so she wouldn’t have to wear a coat and ruin it. 🙂 All the accessories used in that pin are so adorable too!
I know! I’m leaning toward that one, honestly.
Squirrel.
Haha, of course you would say that. 🙂
