I had a whole post planned for today, but when I saw the news this morning, I couldn’t post it. It was happy and the news coming out of Virginia this morning was too sad.

UPDATE: State police now say man suspected of killing two WDBJ7 employees shot himself, and he is still alive

I’m going to refrain from sharing my thoughts until everything unfolds, at least in writing (I can’t say the same for my outbursts while watching the news today). For now, I’m choosing to just take a moment to think of the victims – Alison Parker and Adam Ward – and their loved ones, and praying for Vicki Gardner, who was injured and is recovering from surgery. I’m thinking of all of you right now.

I am not even from the USA but this shocking and heartbreaking story has found its way over to the UK and I just could not believe it. It is even on our daily news and I have no words at the moment. I just hope that the man is caught, has the right punishment, Vicki recovers well and we all pray for the victims and their families!
It’s terrible. They’re establishing scholarships in both their names, so at least their names will live on.
This is so sad. I saw the interview she was doing when she got shot. CNN or my local newspaper online, I don’t remember which one, had a link to the footage from the interview. It was horrific, with her screaming, and I don’t know why it’s there for everyone to see. It’s so disrespectful, IMO. I saw the tweet from her fellow newsman who wrote they had kept their relationship a secret at work, but they were in love and were living together. The cameraman leaves a fiancée and family as well. I am dismayed and scared daily when I visit CNN and other news sites. I’m considering taking a total break from the news for a while. It depresses and scares me.

I didn’t go near any videos for fear of seeing it – I just couldn’t. It was a hard day, and I just hope their families can find peace.
