I hope you all had a lovely Labor Day weekend – I thought I’d jump in this morning with a quick recap of ours to get the week started.
We started our weekend with my mom and sister Rachel coming up for the day on Saturday. We got to introduce her to our favorite breakfast place, Ashton Family Restaurant, and Abbie got lots of Grandma time. One of the best things about having a child is seeing your parents as grandparents – it’s seriously one of my favorite things to see them together.
Sunday was a bit busy – Chris had plans to be out most of the afternoon and evening, so I snuck out of a little bit of solo shopping on Sunday morning. TJ Maxx was good to me – I scored 3 tops for work for about $50. I also snapped a photo of these adorable pumpkins – how cute would this be to DIY for the fall?
Abbie and I then had a mommy-daughter afternoon, complete with mixing up a batch of my favorite cookie dough to freeze and have on hand whenever the mood strikes. Of course, Abbie kept going in for tastes – she truly is my daughter.
Monday morning we got up bright and early, dressed in our Hokie gear, and headed to have breakfast with my brother and sister-in-law before they move to Charlotte later this week. We’re so excited for them and their new adventure, and it’ll be fun to visit them down there once they’re settled.
Finally, as you probably know, my beloved Hokies lost our season opener to Ohio State last night. Rather than hash it all out, I’ll just link to this breakdown on Gobbler Country that echoes all my own thoughts. No matter what though, I am not a fairweather fan and I’m standing behind my Hokies.
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and I’ll see you tomorrow!
