Like everyone else, I’m so excited to see Friday. It’s been a busy, long week, and it’s only getting busier the closer we get to the holidays. So what’s on my mind today?
ONE
It blows my mind that two years ago today was Abbie’s due date. Or course, we all know she didn’t arrive on that day, but it’s still fun to remember the anticipation….and just how pregnant I was. Sometimes I miss being pregnant, but we’re not ready for that again just yet!
TWO
This weekend is our annual Christmas party at the firehouse where my mom volunteers (she volunteers for the auxiliary). My family has been going to this Christmas party since we moved to Virginia when I was four, and I definitely grew up with the ladies my mom volunteers with. Every year, Santa arrives on a fire truck to give out gifts to all the children and grandchildren of the volunteers, until they’re 12. This will be Abbie’s second trip there, and I’m hoping she does as well with Santa this year as she did last year! We asked for something Sofia the First, so we’ll see what Santa has for her!

THREE
Abbie got to spend the day with my sister Melanie yesterday instead of going to daycare. We had Chris’ company’s holiday party last night, which made the pickup/home/party logistics crazy, so Melanie generously came up and watched Abbie for us all day. Abbie was great for her, even when Melanie had to take her to George Mason to hand in a paper. Chris was ecstatic since Melanie got a picture of Abbie there – it’s his alma mater too.
FOUR
I have a love/hate relationship with all the holiday sales right now. I swear, I just want to buy everything…. but can’t. Ever since I started really paying attention to what I want to wear and how I want my style to evolve, it’s been harder and harder to avoid the sales. There’s so many good ones!
FIVE
I went to get stamps at the post office yesterday… and they were out of stamps. How does that even happen?? Here’s hoping the grocery store has some so I can get my holiday cards out!
Have a fabulous weekend! I’m linking up with these ladies and ready to spend the weekend with our girl!

The firehouse sounds so fun- I hope she likes Santa as much this year as she did last year 🙂 And I feel you on the shopping/sales…. I want everything, and really want to revamp my wardrobe but I’m telling myself I HAVE to wait.
She did great – no fear! And why is not shopping SO hard. Why can’t we all just win the lottery?
