Oh Hey Friday {3.6.15}

I am SO happy to see Friday (as always), but even more excited for spring, which seems to finally be on the horizon! Here’s my five for today…

ONE

We got hit with what I hope is the last snowstorm of the season yesterday. It started with rain on Wednesday afternoon before turning to sleet, then snow yesterday morning. It snowed all day and we got at least 8 inches, but possibly close to a foot. Thankfully, my office was closed. Today will be cold again, but starting tomorrow it’s supposed to warm up, with highs in the 50s next week. I can’t even tell you how excited I am. I can’t wait to finally let Abbie play outside again after this long cold winter! Bring on spring!

TWO

Speaking of spring, “spring forward” is this weekend and we are just tonight starting to adjust Abbie’s bedtime. When she was an infant, we used to start adjusting her bedtime six days in advance, but we’re now down to just three. Tonight we’ll start bedtime 20 minutes early, then tomorrow 40 minutes early, so when we start an hour early on Sunday, the time will be adjusted and she should be back to her normal schedule. Oh, the things you don’t think about before kids that require so much planning now!

THREE

Snow days are so hard for me as far as food and activity go. I’m hoping I didn’t do too much damage yesterday (I may have indulged in some homemade cheese fries), but we’ll see how I did tomorrow. Yet another reason to bring on spring!

FOUR

This weekend I’m finally going to get the haircut I was supposed to get two weeks ago when it snowed. It’s just in time, since my hair is seriously driving me crazy – it’s the longest it’s been in a long time. I know I’ll be cutting off at least a few inches, but not sure just how much yet. Any suggestions for me?

FIVE

I finally took the plunge and ordered the Premium Starter Kit from Young Living Oils… and I cannot wait for it to get here. They should get here next week, and I’m seriously hoping they help with this congestion I’ve been fighting all winter. You know I’ll be reporting back to you guys on what I think!

Have a great weekend all!

  1. Thanks for reminder of daylight savings time!!! I love EO! You are going to enjoy them so much!!! happy Friday!

  2. The snow REALLY needs to stop! We got another 5 inches yesterday and hopefully that is the last of it! I just got my hair cut tonight and I have a short bob-love it!

    1. Seriously. Goodbye snow, I’m so tired of you!

      I ended up cutting my hair quite a bit shorter too – so happy with it!

  3. I wish I would have read this last night. I woke up this morning super excited that I slept in a little but it was still 8:45…wrong! It was 9:45. I hate the feeling of losing an hour. Looks like you had a great week! We got hit with snow here too and I hope it is the last time!

    1. At least we have daylight longer though, right? That’s the bright side! (Ha, pun intended!)
