Happy Monday! I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend! I didn’t want it to end… which I’m sure most of you can agree with. Mondays after a holiday weekend are SO hard, but it definitely has me looking forward to my Christmas break, when I get the entire week between Christmas and New Year’s off! Anyway, as a way to prolong the awesome weekend, here’s a few scenes from our holiday weekend.
Abbie LOVED the Rockettes and even watched a good portion of the Macy’s parade before we went outside to play. The parade is a huge tradition in my family, so it’s awesome to see her watch it too!
If you guys haven’t tried the Fubble bubble wands – you’re missing out. We had so much fun with them! I picked them up at Target but I’ve seen them on Amazon too.
Chris and I were also off on Friday, and we were incredibly lucky to get a gorgeous day as far as weather. We took full advantage of it, taking Abbie outside for lots of bubbles and chasing. It was so nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine and just get some time with our family alone. We don’t get nearly enough of it with our long workweeks, and Abbie LOVES to be outside (so unlike me as a child).
Saturday we headed over to my in-laws for a second Thanksgiving with Chris’ family. It was so nice to see them, especially my brother and sister-in-law that just moved to Charlotte. Abbie got to run around on the playground, and of course the only photos I took were of her (typical mom life).
Oh, and see the Hokie shirt she’s wearing? It must have been good luck because my Hokies got a final win for the season, beating UVA and keeping our bowl streak intact. I cried all the happy tears I had, and I think my sister-in-law thought I was nuts.
Sunday was filled with lots of errands and getting our living room cleaned up for the Christmas tree… which currently has about 5 ornaments on it. I figure any amount is progress. Besides, Abbie is hard at work on her own tree, and isn’t that what counts?
Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving!

Cam loved the parade too. The Rockettes are the best! Looks like you had a great time outside. It was beautiful here too. I really want to make the kids a felt tree. I need to get on that.
Sounds like a lovely Thanksgiving! And perhaps you have a future Rockette at home… 🙂
I was emotionally drained after the game. I still can’t believe that was Frank’s last regular season game.
