It’s once again time to link up for Five on Friday with Darci, April, Christina and Natasha – this week I’m sharing my goals for this spring!
{ONE}
Lose 15 pounds. I’m hoping to lose 5 pounds a month until I hit goal weight, and that puts me at 15 pounds for the spring. It’d be really nice to fit back into some of my old clothes again. Would you all be interested in the actual numbers? It’s scary to share exactly what I weigh and what I’m trying to get to, but I think it might help with my accountability. Every little bit helps!
{TWO}
Get on some sort of cleaning schedule. I’d really like to be able to spend a few minutes cleaning every night so it’s not such a big chore when the house HAS to be clean – I’d like to be able to get to the point that if someone were to just show up, I would be okay with however clean/messy the house is. I mean, the house can only be so clean with a toddler, but I really want to be better about it!
{THREE}
Work out 2-3 times a week. I think this will really help with number one, in addition to getting my 10,000 steps a day. My friend Ashley wants to try out the yoga place nearby, so we may try that, and hopefully the weather will FINALLY warm up so we can get in some walks outside!
{FOUR}
Keep to our budget. We’ve done well so far with keeping our spending down, and I really want the trend to continue so we can keep knocking out debt and get prepared to buy a house later this year.
{FIVE}
Try to be on time more. I know I say this all the time, but I’m pretty bad about it. Anyone know any tricks to help? (And Chris, you’re not allowed to say anything!)

i’m perpetually 5 minutes late and it’s my biggest pet peeve. i just hate it. and yay for working out! get it girl! i think you’ll find lots of support in blog land if you choose to blog about it!
Good luck on reaching all your goals this spring. I’m just ready for spring to come!
I was never late until I had Callie… no I feel like I”m always running just a little behind! Sharing your actual weight or not — I think it’s all about if it helps you. I share mine because I found it easier than tracking how much i’d lost. I’d love to loose 15lbs by spring (although it will still be far from my goal)! I’m working on a little budget post for the blog this month – maybe it’ll help with your budget goals!
I agree – always five minutes late. If you find tips that work, share them please!
Good luck with the weight loss! The only thing that helps me is counting calories- it’s always shocking when I first start to see just how many calories I consume a day!! I’m not a big yoga person but my sister swears by it!
Hi Jess,
You have some great goals! I struggle with the weight also. A couple months ago I had my yearly check up, and my dr insisted that I lose about 40 pounds. He told me about a diet he is on, and wanted me to try it, which I have. It’s called The 5-2 Plan. It’s pretty simple….5 days a week you eat pretty much what you want (within reason). Then you pick 2 days a week ( not consecutively), and on those days you “fast”, but you can eat about 500 calories. At first I thought I’d be starving, but it is doable. The good thing is, you are really feeling like you are only depriving yourself for one day, and then the very next day you can have your favorites again. And having been careful on those fasting days really does make you conscious of eating better on the “regular” days. You can change the fasting days each week to suit what you are doing, such as a dinner out with friends, special treat days at work, etc. I’ve lost 14 pounds so far! There is a lot online about the plan, plus several books available. Just thought I’d pass this along in case it interested you!
