Stitch Fix #8

My Stitch Fix arrival day is one of my favorite days of the month. Seriously. I get so excited when I know that box is sitting on my doorstep waiting for me. Totally worth it for me. My most recent one arrived yesterday, and here’s what was in it!

 Stitch Fix 8

When I initially peeked to see what was coming, I wasn’t quite sure how this fix was going to go, but I was pleasantly surprised. My stylist really knows what she’s doing!

 OCTAVIA Betty Chevron Infinity Scarf

Item 1 – Octavia Betty Chevron Infinity Scarf – $32

I really liked this – totally my style. This scarf is one of the reasons I always hope there’s at least one accessory in my fix – that means there’s always an option for something to keep! The fabric on this is soft, the color is great, and the only reason I didn’t keep it was because I was trying to be choosier about what I kept this time around. Verdict: Returned.

RD STYLE Maureen Twisted Seam Elbow Patch Sweater

Item 2 – RD STYLE Maureen Twisted Seam Elbow Patch Sweater – XL – $64

I wasn’t sure what I would think of this, although the elbow patches made me optimistic. I love elbow patches, but somehow don’t have any in my closet. That said, I wasn’t crazy about this. I didn’t like that the knit was kind of see through and I really needed a shirt underneath it, which was hard (it’s got a pretty wide neckline that I wasn’t really comfortable with). I did love the color – can’t beat navy! Verdict: Returned.

Market and Spruce Elissa French Terry Striped Moto Jacket

Item 3 – Market and Spruce Elissa French Terry Striped Moto Jacket – XL – $74

I had asked for a coat, but Aileen wasn’t able to find me one she thought I’d like and sent this instead. It’s a super cute little jacket, and I loved the gray stripes. I really liked the look of it open, but it was asymmetrical when closed and I didn’t really like it. This was also Chris’ least favorite piece – he said it looked like prison stripes. It did really remind me of a blazer, and if it was a blazer rather than a jacket, I probably would have kept it. Verdict: Returned.

41Hawthorn Moni Stud Detailed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse

Item 4 – 41Hawthorn Moni Stud Detailed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse – XL – $58

I was skeptical when I saw this coming. I’ve received this before in a pattern (here), and it was way too tight. I don’t remember looking at the size of that one, but I’m now thinking that was the problem, since this one fit perfectly. The black is super versatile and I can see myself wearing this a lot. This was Chris’ favorite piece too. Verdict: Kept.

Market & Spruce Corinna Striped Dolman Top

Item 5 – Market & Spruce Corinna Striped Dolman Top – XL – $48

This is the second piece I’ve received before. To be fair, I’m pretty sure Aileen wasn’t my stylist the last time I received this, so it’s hard for her to remember that. I did really like the color, but I still think dolman sleeves don’t work on me. The fabric was super soft and stretchy, and I can see this as a good top to request the next time I’m pregnant – seems like it’ll have give and even stretch back. Not right now though! Verdict: Returned.

And Stitch Fix number eight is in the books! Now to impatiently wait on number nine….

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the studded blouse. It looks gorgeous on you and clearly, you love it too because that smile says everything. I’m personally not a fan of the dolman tops either. I always feel like it makes me look like I have arm fat hanging and I’m not about to look any fatter – especially when I’ve been dieting my tukas off!

  2. I look forward to your Stitch Fix posts! I really like the black studded shirt too. I agree with you on the striped jacket/blazer. I have a cami and linen shirt in kiwi that I used to wear a lot until my husband told me I looked like Shrek. It is Shrek green, but I never realized it until he told me. I don’t wear it much anymore.
