Valentine’s Day for Dads with JORD (Plus a Giveaway!)

Growing up, Valentine’s Day was not a huge deal in my house. Typically, we got a package of store-bought valentine’s for school to fill out and called it a day. My parents never made a big deal of it, but as a parent now, I love making Valentine’s Day fun for my girls.

Valentine’s Day sometimes has a lot of pressure around it, but it doesn’t have to be. Simple and thoughtful is one of the best ways to show you care. While we often think of our significant others and our kids on Valentine’s Day, we sometimes forget the first people who loved us – our parents.

I have to be honest, I don’t remember ever getting my parents a Valentine’s Day gift, but I have no idea why not. I have been known to do things like buy my mom flowers on my birthday, but this year? I spoiled my dad just a little for Valentine’s Day.

My dad has always worked incredibly hard for my family. When I was a kid, he worked more than one job when my sisters were young so my mom could stay home. I used to think I was the most like my mom, but as I get older I see more and more that I’m a lot like my dad too.
