Abbie’s Big Girl Room

Over the summer, I completed a big project – Abbie’s new big girl room. We opted to move Abbie into what used to be our guest bedroom ahead of her baby sister’s arrival. Not only was it easier, furniture wise, and but we wanted to make a big deal out of Abbie getting her new room in hopes she wouldn’t feel like baby sister was taking hers away.

A sweet purple room for a toddler or preschooler - a room that will grow with your child on a budget! Includes sources!

This room was a labor of love and I’m just so proud of it. Many of the items in it came from her nursery (the artwork, some color inspiration), but I was so excited to put together this new space for her. I scoured craigslist for months to find a headboard and dresser for her, which we painted white along with two bookcases we already had. We kept the same lavender paint scheme we had used in her nursery and added touches of mint/aqua to bring that to life.

I am so, so happy with how it turned out. I really wanted a space that she would love now but still be able to grow into, and I think we accomplished that. She moved in about six weeks ago, and it’s safe to say she loves it!

  1. Abbie has an absolutely beautiful big girl room! It’s perfect and the colors really pop. I think she’s going to be very happy in that room for a long time. Way to go momma!

  2. I love her room, it turned out so cute!! And we have those same striped curtains (but in navy) from Target and I love them just as much as the super expensive ones I have from PBK, but such a better price!
