Baby Talk: Style File

Today I have the pleasure of linking up with the Kid Tested, Mom Approved Linkup as well as Kristin’s Baby Talk Linkup!

I’ve talked about Abbie’s clothes before, but little girl clothes are some of the cutest things on the planet (sorry, boy moms).  I buy all of Abbie’s clothes on sale, and love to hit up consignment sales in my area – there was actually one this weekend!  Take a look at my loot!  I spent about $70, including picking up about $14 worth of toys and books.

Clockwise, from top left: 1 set jammies (12 mo), 2 dresses and a sweater (12 mo), 2 top/pant outfits (12 mo), 5 bibs, 5 sets jammies (18 mo), 2 onesies (12 mo), and 3 white onesies (12 mo)

I also bought Abbie a few things during the week last week, including these from Old Navy – every onesie was on clearance for $3 or less, and the pants were on sale too – how cute are the little ruffles?!?

5 onesies (12 mo) 1 onesie (18 mo), 2 pairs pants (12 mo)

And Gymboree recently came out with their fall line…including some clothes with squirrels on them.  So, like any Alpha Gam legacy, Abbie had to have them.  This dress is ridiculously cute and I can’t wait for her to wear it!

Onesie and dress (12 mo) and squirrel bib!

Abbie’s starting to outgrow EVERYTHING pretty quickly, so I’m starting to stock up on things for fall and winter for her – how is my 8 month old about to fit into 12 month clothes?  I feel like she went through the 9 month clothes super fast, so I’m glad I didn’t buy a ton of them!  I’ve already bought some 18 month things too – if it’s a good price and I think she’ll need it eventually, I usually pick it up.  I hardly ever buy clothes for myself anymore but am I always buying things for Abbie…guess that comes with motherhood!

  1. Oh my gosh, you totally scored! I’m so jealous, ha ha!
Abbie is SO cute! I never would have guessed she’s almost in 12 month clothes! Pictures make it so hard to tell the true size of babies. My baby is also 8 months and she’s still in 3-6 month clothes, HA! I’m ready for her to size up to 9 month because I have so many cute outfits just waiting to be washed and worn!

  2. It really is crazy how much babies vary in their sizes! Abbie blew through all her 9 month clothes – I feel like she’s grown A TON in these past few weeks especially. She LOVES eating solid food so I’m thinking that’s why!

  3. I remember my son going through size in the first year in a matter of four weeks sometimes. He’s 19 months old now and I think he’s finally slowed down, but he’s still bigger for his age — he wears a 2t.

  4. That’s good to hear! She used to take about 3 months or so to go through a size, but I feel like she blew through the 9 month stuff in like 6 weeks. I’m just glad she got to wear most of it!

I’m Jess! I’m a working mama of two sweet sisters living in the DC area. This is my space to share inspiration, real stories of working motherhood, recipes, style, and more! I can’t start my day without coffee and always try to show the real side of motherhood – the good and the challenging. I’m so glad you’re here – thanks for following along on my journey!
