October is my favorite month of all. Not only does it include my birthday, but I’ve always felt its the start of the holiday season. Plus, there’s college football, sweaters, leaves falling…it’s pretty much perfection. Then I started thinking about my other favorite things…
Color: Usually purple, but I’m a pretty big fan of maroon and orange (duh)
TV Show: Parenthood is hands down my favorite and I’m so sad about it ending this year. I also love Revenge, Top Chef, and the Real Housewives of Orange County and Beverly Hills.
Movie: When Harry Met Sally. I love it and know pretty much every line of the movie. You can’t beat Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal, and New York in the Fall. Nora Ephron was a genius.
Band: Lady Antebellum, no question. Have you heard their new album, 747? It’s been on repeat for me since it came out – my faves on the album are… well, basically most of it. Just get it.
Book: Probably the Harry Potter series. So what if that’s more than one book?
Sound: Abbie saying “Mom-mom”
Smell: Typically vanilla (I know, boring), although Yankee Candle has a winter fragrance called “sparkling snow” that I’m a big fan of. I get overpowered by smells pretty easily and prefer to keep them simple.
Room in my House: The living room. Most of Abbie’s toys are there, so we end up spending time playing on the floor and hanging out as a family. I love Abbie’s room too – it’s so perfect for her and I love the color of the walls.
Place: Blacksburg, VA (especially during football season). As much as I love my house and my family, there’s something about that place that just makes me feel like I’m home. I seriously get goosebumps when I see the sign on interstate 81.
Starbucks drink: When I’m splurging, a Salted Caramel Mocha. Sorry PSL lovers, it’s better. On a typical day, a skinny caramel or hazelnut macchiato or a skinny vanilla latte.
Food: Breakfast food. All of it.
Outfit: Pajamas. Why can’t I wear them to work?
Quote: “Knowledge is like love – it depends what you do with it.” Elie Wiesel said this during a speaking engagement when I was in college and it’s stuck with me since. I was lucky enough to get to meet him – I’ll have to dig up the picture, bu needless to say it was pretty incredible.
What are your favorites?

LOVE When Harry Met Sally! 🙂 And my favorite scent is vanilla, too! 😉
I love “When Harry Met Sally”! Such a great movie. And vanilla candles make me SO hungry for cookies! I have to have a “clean linen” smell or something so I don’t eat 24/7!
When Harry Met Sally will ALWAYS be one of my fave romantic movies of all time- Love, love love it! 🙂 I had the joy of hearing Nora Ephron speak at a women’s luncheon just a couple years ago, shortly before she passed- she was amazing.
Funny but I always think of when Harry met Sally as a Christmas/New Years movie!
I’m easy on the scents too. Lately I’ve been loving like a really soft lemon scent. Clean more than anything else ya know?
