Friday! {12.11.15}

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week and it flew by like mine did! I’m ready for a break and some holiday fun this weekend, so lets get to my five!

ONE

We’re supposed to get temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s this weekend – yep, in December. Virginia weather is crazy but I’m so thankful we’ll have another weekend to be outside. Abbie recently picked up how to play tag (I think from daycare), and it’s pretty adorable – that and she likes to race Chris, saying, “go, go go” as she runs. I’m glad she picked up athleticism from somewhere because she certainly didn’t get it from me!

TWO

We see Santa on Sunday! My mom volunteers for a local fire department’s auxiliary, and every year they do a Christmas party for the kids and grandkids of the volunteers. I love that we get to go each year because not only does Abbie get to see Santa in a smaller, controlled environment – he also brings her a present! She’s been pretty good in past years (2013 and 2014) so I’m hoping this year goes smoothly too. We’ll see!

THREE

Speaking of holidays, this weekend is pretty much my last chance to make latkes for Hannukah, and I’m planning on trying on Saturday! We’ll see how they turn out. It’s been really fun showing Abbie the candles this year, even if she thinks they’re birthday candles that she wants to blow out!

FOUR

These two are just the best. I’m so thankful that Chris is such an involved dad and it’s awesome to watch their bond develop, and develop so differently from my relationship with Abbie. Even though he grew up with all brothers, I think Chris was always meant to be a dad to a girl.

FIVE

I snapped this photo as Abbie was running into daycare this morning – I love how excited she gets to go and how much fun she has while she’s there. Finding a great daycare is a challenge, and we’ve been very lucky to find the one we did.

Hope you all have a great weekend, and I’m linking up with the Friday hosts below!

  1. The Daddy/daughter bond is something I’m so excited to see between Drew and Emmy. He has such a special relationship with Cam, but I can’t wait to see how wrapped he is by our little girl. I already see it, but can’t wait for it to develop. 🙂 It’s supposed to be in the 70s here this weekend too. So tough to be in the Christmas spirit when it’s that warm. Ha ha!
