Can I just take a moment to recognize that I graduated from college SEVEN years ago? I have no idea how this is possible, but it’s true.
While I had a lot of fun in college, I also worked hard to maintain a high GPA, and ended up graduating with a 3.35 (and yes, I totally logged in to VT account to remember that)! Along with those classes came one of the things I least wanted to spend money on…textbooks.
The prices of textbooks are ridiculous. Since I was a Communication Studies major, my most expensive one was about $150, but I had friend in the more technical majors (science, math, etc) who sometimes had to spend over $300…for one book! Buying used textbooks helped out a lot, but it never seemed like enough.
Once the class was over came what I considered the most painful part…selling the books back. It was truly the worst – you never got anywhere near what you spent on them, and sometimes the book was changing for the following semester and they wouldn’t buy it back. Hence, I have a stack of textbooks from college still sitting in our house.
Enter Campus Book Rentals. I wish this company had been around when I was in college! They do exactly what their name states – rent textbooks! Gone are the days of buying from the campus bookstore and waiting in line to sell your books back. Campus Book Rentals ships your books straight to you (free!) and when you’re done, you ship them back (also free!).
This obviously offers a lot of benefits for students. Some highlights include:

- With every rental, they donate to Operation Smile, a nonprofit dedicated to providing free surgeries to correct children’ cleft palates!

I wish this had been around, too! I spent so much money on books.
If you think college books were bad, you’d die over the price of law school books. GAH. If I could get that money back I could buy a new car. 🙁
